Waikiki area has 6 bars currently open (unless some have closed recently), all within walking distance of each other:
Hula's (oldest and largest. Dance floor. Go-Go boys.)
Lo Jax (formerly Angles. Small dance floor. Veranda seating over-looking Kuhio St.)
Fusion (Drag shows/dance floor. Late night crowd. Next door to Lo Jax)
Tapas (Behind/around corner from Lo Jax. Older crowd.)
Bacchus (small bar. friendly. Locals.)
In-Between (very small. locals. friendly.)
Queens Beach at the east end of Waikiki is gay'ish. The area around the concession stand in Kapiolani Park

Thanks for the responses.
Any idea if these places are hopping during midweek or more of a weekend place?

All the bars will, of course be busier toward the end of the week and weekend. Hula's will always have tourists/locals there because of the name recognition and history. Fusion is more of a weekend party spot. The rest are unpredictable as far as numbers on any night. Check out their websites for special events during the week.

Bacchus
Bacchus is busy most evenings. Tuesdays all beer is only $2 and Wednesdays everything is 2 for 1. The specials are good and the atmosphere is much nicer than Hulas, in my humble opinion. It's also very centrally located on Lewers St.
