ADAC membership

What benefits does ADACplus provide over the standard ADAC membership?

My German is somewhat limited, and I'm trying to decide if it is worth the extra roughly 30 euro per year?

Thanks for the help.

ADAC has some English language information on its website:

This provides only various programs and the cost for each. I could not find any English descriptions of the various programs

to bring it to point:

the Plus-member also receives all necessary help (in case of car breakdown, illness, injury, emergency cases...) in foreign countries. The normal ADAC-member just gets help within Germany.
So the Plus-membership is really helpful, if you are travelling a lot through the world.
Not included (as far as I know) is a classical health insurance for travellers, but for example the transortation back to Germany via medical aircraft is coverd for urgent cases.

Thanks. I saw the English link but noted it did not give a description of any services. Will ADAC tow your car a certain number of kilometers to the repair shop of your choice, or just to the first one available?

Usually one of your choice if that's within reasonable distance (i.e. it costs no more than EUR 200 to tow your car to that particular garage). It really is explained on this page (blue_hubbas link)

ADAC is quite popular in the UK now, as the "Plus" membership is much cheaper than any of the UK breakdown assistance deals (AA, RAC,...), but includes Europe, and even some (limited) worldwide assistance. Last time we called the ADAC to get our car going (was parked in front of the house - yep, home start is included) they sent an AA van. The driver said he'd seen a lot of UK registered cars with UK owners where the owners relied on ADAC membership for breakdown assistance. He then asked us for the link to the membership application, as ADAC plus membership was cheaper for him than the AA package, even allowing for his employee discount (!).
