Has anyone stored luggage in Frankfurt Airport?

We will be spending a week in Frankfurt and then taking advantage of a good deal on Air Lingus to Ireland. I see that Air Lingus has a pretty strict baggage policy. More than likely we will have to leave a suitcase behind. I see that the Frankfurt airport does have a luggage storage, although I am not real clear on the rate for a week. Anyway, does anyone have any experience leaving their luggage there for an extended amount of time? Is is it safe?
Thanks!
Julie

I've used the left luggage service at FRA and it is very professional. Better than any hotel that I've seen. They even xray all luggage prior to accepting it for storage. I would have no qualms about leaving it their for any duration, it is safer than with the airlines! Dont remember the cost exactly, it may vary with size and is about 5 euro/day (so your week storage will cost about USD 50 or quite a bit less than Aer Lingus would charge for excess baggage).

I'll second everything number_6 said above - I used the left luggage in FRA earlier this month and was impressed with their professionalism. For more information, including rates for storage, you can look here

Yeah, I used Left Luggage at FRA last year, and used to use it a lot in previous years - very reliable and professional.

Question

Are luggage storage facilities common at airports?
What other airports have them?
Mostly in Europe? Any in USA?

Just used Frankfurt storage for 3 hours; wasn't cheap, but it did seem safe and professional. Looks outsourced now (not sure if it was before). 7 Euros ($10 per bag for 2 to 24 hours, so I wasn't at the sweet spot..).

€11.50 first day and €7 each day after. I use them all the time. They have a few locations, including inside security, but watch out for opening times if you are coming/going early or late.

IIRC, the location on T1 Arrivals level is open 24 hours.
