if I rent a car in Hamburg, can I drive it to UK and back?

I just figured that it's easier to make a side trip to the UK by driving the car there, instead of flying or taking a train to the UK and renting another car...

Must say that I much prefer being in a right-hand-drive car when driving on the left, though.
