Saunas in Frankfurt

I am going to frankfurt for two weeks in march, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good sauna to go to. I have been doing some research on it, but my poor german language comprehension I think is holding me back some.
thanks in advance for the advice.

What kind of sauna are you looking for? Hotels have them, public swimming pools have them (Rebstockbad), spas have them especially nice in say Bad Homburg etc nearby, the red light district should have them, gay saunas might be available too...

Indeed. A public sauna is pretty much either a gay place or a mega-brothel. I'm sure there are some 'normal' public saunas but I suspect if you're looking for that your best bet is to go to one of the better hotels and buy a day-pass to their spa. Try Villa Kennedy or the Jumeirah hotel.

You can most certainly find ones that aren't related to either. More often in smaller towns than in the big city itself. Usually they advertise "wellness" rather than FKK.

This one seems legitimate if the OP isn't looking for an FKK or Gay sauna.

LondonElite obviously confuses a "sauna" with a "sauna club".

Saunas in Frankfurt

No I don't. I'm just pointing out that, to people who aren't familiar with the sauna landscape, such a mistake can easily be made.

Bad Homburg and other small towns north of Frankfurt are rather well known for their spa culture. Less than half an hour by public transport from both the airport and downtown.

This Tanus Therma looks pretty nice too...http://www.taunus-therme.de/en/?Welcome

It's about an hour by S-bahn north of Frankfurt.

Here is another link with a list of wellness spas in the Frankfurt area: http://www.hivino.travel/discover-ge...wellness/7-532

The key does seem to be Google "sauna therme wellness frankfurt" to find ones nearby.

Kaiser Friedrich in Wiesbaden (http://www.wiesbaden.de/microsite/ma...edrich-therme/) is pretty good. You can S-Bahn it to the Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof and walk it from there (or take a bus, probably get there faster walking though).

General ROT: If a German town has "bad" anywhere in the name (Wiesbaden, Baden-Baden, Bad Homburg, Bad Wimpfen, etc.) it is a "German Spa Town," and there is actually a process to be approved for this distinction.
