Venetian sports book ticket: winning ticket ink faded. Recourse?
A buddy bet $20 for Villanova to win the NCAA championship, $520 payout.
Somehow the ticket ink faded:
He does have a photo of part of the ticket with the exact time and date of purchase before the ink faded.
The back of the ticket:
Does he have any recourse?

Since he has a photo with the exact time it was placed, they might be able to look it up based on that info. I don't have direct experience, but if you Google "faded sports book ticket" it sounds like there is some reasonable chance of success.

It's all about them verifying if the ticket was cashed (previously), IMO. Of course, this is off the top of my head.
I think the evidence of the faded ticket and back up information is a good place to start.

Have received a couple requests for follow-up, so I asked my buddy. His reply:
Fingers crossed!
Assuming it works, the lesson is to take a photo of a long-term bet. Either that or take better care of the ticket!
I found the original picture of it... With all the details. Printed it off and mailed it in.
We'll see...

My buddy provided a the face book update today:
Remember this FADED betting slip? Well, that + a pic of the original slip was good enough (via postal mail to boot)!

EasyPay slot tickets (though I haven't tested it) should NEVER fade. Why don't they print sports betting tickets on the same type of paper and use ink which won't fade?
[Many stores print receipts using a thermal printer (ditto for cc receipts), these fade very easily.]
