Has N/S room reservation at Harrahs AC but got smoking
I had a 3 night comp stay recently. Had reserved a Non Smoking. Was given a smoking room.
I called FD and they said "sorry, we are full"
They sent up someone to airfresh the room (did not make much difference)
By the end of my 3 night stay, ALL MY CLOTHES and my suitcase REEKED of smoke!!
It was quite incredible actually how much they all smelled!!
My question is, I think I should get some compensation for having to launder/dryclean all my clothes, not to mention wanting a new suitcase!
Since my rooms were comped- what should I ask for?
thoughts??

COMP rooms are subject to availability with regard to all requests (bedding, smoking, view, suite).
It's actually unusual to get a smoking room since they are only 15%+/- of the available rooms and are usually more popular.
Personally, I would have asked to move "mid-stay." (or alternatively asked to be place at another AC CZR property) But, as we know, weekends can be very full in AC.
Most you can expect is perhaps some RCs for your inconvenience.
The only way to avoid this issue, on COMP rooms (CZR-Total Rewards) is to have a host block your room type prior to arrival. I've had this done in AC and Vegas (at CZR properties) and it's probably the only way to guarantee you'll get what you want (or shall we say, what you reserved).

I would say comp RCs are a minimum the OP should expect.
I did have a comped stay in a smoking room at Harrah's AC but was moved the following day to the Marina Tower. Difference was night and day.

Unless "host controlled," everything is subject to availability. Welcome to the world of Caesars Entertainment in AC. Hence, why I only stay at Borgata and Revel. (well, there are like 5 more reasons, but I don't have time time or patience to list all of them....)

The rooms, dining options, and gaming floor are much better at Borgata anyways. ^ I only visited Revel once and thought the layout was too confusing. This is quite surprising since I can navigate almost every LV property except for Caesars Palace and Venetian/Palazzo.

I once stayed at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi (MGM property) on a paid reservation. I paid $10 extra for an Ocean View room. Upon arrival, they gave me a room facing the street (away from the Ocean for those not familiar with this property). I called down and was told that was all they had, so basically tough luck. After arguing for 15 minutes that I should at least get my extra $10 back, I decided that sleep was more important than that amount of money and gave up.
Depending on who you are (in the casino's eyes) you may actually get treated ALOT better on a comped stay than someone who paid for the exact same room, of course.
