Mlife's (MGM's properties) policy:

Tier Credits earned from October 1 to September 30 qualify you for your tier beginning each October 1. IF YOU ADVANCE TO A HIGHER TIER AT ANY TIME, YOU'LL ENJOY THOSE BENEFITS FOR AT LEAST ONE FULL YEAR. (Caps mine.)

Wouldn't Total Rewards have a similar policy? Personally, I got upgraded to Diamond, via FoundersCard, in December of 2016. Regardless of the fact that I used FoundersCard to do it, to kick someone out of Diamond after LESS THAN 2 months (in my specific case), seems EXTREMELY petty on the casinos' part. And hardly worth the bad PR and ill will it will inevitably engender (with everyone they would be doing it to).

I am not going to disagree. But you DID NOT earn the Tier for Total Rewards Diamond. It's a COMP upgrade to Diamond.

It is NOT like CZR-Total Rewards sees it as you earning 15k Tier Points 1 January to 31 December 2016. They just see it as a "bump" to Diamond (like a status match) which is good until the end of the current casino year. In this case, if you got the COMP UPGRADE from FC to Caesars Total Rewards Diamond in November 2016, the upgrade lasts until 31 January 2017.....

BUT.... FC tends to renew in January... and everyone who is a FC member in good standing (and signed up for the Caesars Diamond Benefit) is on a list sent to Total Rewards and the COMP Diamond status is extended (based on FC membership) to 31 January 2018.

But, it's never guaranteed. And Caesars views it as a COMP upgrade; not equivalent to "earning" Diamond with 15k tier points. At least, that's how I always understood it.

IF you had earned 15k tier points in Total Rewards, from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2016, your Diamond would be valid until 31 January 2018. But, that's much different than a COMP upgrade form FC, IMHO.

Exactly. As he said, it is not earned, so you cannot expect the same "courtesies" to extend to a comp upgrade. There are some casino tier matches that give you a certain, limited amount of time to earn points to keep their tier. The information about the FC is on several forums, and I've read since I started researching it that it goes until your membership expires or TR's year and/or partnership ends, or whichever comes first. And I personally bought it October knowing Diamond could end this month, but I'm satisfied with what I've gotten from it plus I can benefit from quite a few of the other FC perks.

And I agree with that. However, (and I know this is comparing apples to oranges), I was simply using Mlife's program as a comparison. I was upgraded a level via the Hyatt credit card, and their policy is, REGARDLESS of how you "get there," you're always given at least one full year in the higher tier.

Perhaps I should just say I'm surprise that Total Rewards policies are not similar, since ultimately, their "product," (gambling and everything that goes along with it) is.

It's really apple to oranges. For example if Delta did a Gold Medallion Status match, would one expect that United Airlines or American Airlines to conform to the match? They are all airlines. They are all US Legacy Carriers. But, they operate differently with regard to their elite program and matches/upgrades of status. Similar, but still different. Just like Caesars Entertainment Total Rewards and MGM Mlife.

NO NO! There has been no announcement by FoundersCard yet... I was just saying what the process has been in previous years. Nothing has changed..... yet. I have not heard anything about the Caesars FC renewal. I believe we will hear very close to the end of the month.

Could someone please clarify -
If I signed up for FC in June, 2016, and my TR Diamond status expires on 31-Jan 2017, would I still be on this "list" that FC sends (perhaps by the end of this month) to CET for Diamond status that will expire in Jan 2018?

Yes! As long as FC renews with Caesars your Diamond Status will be renewed (via FC) till January 2018. I have *no idea* if you DO NOT renew FC in June 2017 if they (FC) will advise Caesars Total Rewards to downgrade you. I do not believe they will, but that is always a risk. Since you are supposed to be a member in good standing with FoundersCard.

My gut says, once (if it happens) your Caesars Total Rewards renewal to Diamond until January 2018..... you are set.

I believe that there is a FoundersCard stipulation (terms&conditions) that once you cancel (do not renew) you cannot renew again immediately. But, I don't really know for sure.

Has anyone signed up this month for the founders card and upgraded to diamond? If so what is your expiration date?

I'm looking to buy the card and this is the most important item to me. However I have a business trip this month for a week and am staying at a caesars property.

If you purchase it now, your expiration date will be the end of this month.

This is not true, as the whole upgrade process takes a whole month. If you pay now, and they don't renew, you will not enjoy it for even one day.

Frankly, I wonder why FC keeps listing this as a benefit. They know it's not been confirmed past January 2017 and anyone who applies now won't be upgraded by the end of the month. This may be the case of fake advertising.

On a related note, my local has poker tournaments where the top 4 or 5 players ger Diamond status for a year. So, all the hubbub about FC Diamond players is, well, hubbub.

No, it's not hubbub at all! It's the benefit 50% of members sign-up for with FC. If it does not get renewed, many of them will want their money back, and rightfully so. FC's very own existence is at stake here.
