Revel AC closing poker room in August

Very disappointing and IMHO not the right move considering the clientele they are trying to attract.

I've been to the Revel Poker room, when it had just opened. Here's my quick rundown of the "goods" and "bads":
1- The location: One of the worst ever in AC. Since there was insufficient signage, I remember I had to flag down 2 employees along the way in order for me to get there. It's located "off the beaten path" so to speak. The poker rooms at the Borgata and Harrah's are a hike from their respective parking lots, but the Revel's is like a mini journey so to speak.
2- Cell Phone reception: I can understand if you are trying to jam cell phone signals in hotel towers but c'mon. And at the Revel poker room, I could barely squeeze one bar in almost the entire room. FTR I am not a Verizon user.
3- Ambience/Lighting: I remember going when it had just opened and it was dark and depressing. Harrah's has some pretty bad lighting in comparison to other rooms in AC but it almost seemed like the lighting at Revel was to save money, it was THAT dark. I remembered talking with a floor guy there and they said it was being addressed.
4- No cupholders: Not right. I don't need to comment further.
5- Lack of a Food court/conveniently priced food option: The B, check. Even Harrah's got the info when they opened the Waterfront Tower way back when. How do you not have an affordable option for food is just mind boggling.
"Goods"
1- They did have comfortable chairs.
2- $500 max buyin for 1-2 NL. Definitely much better than the $300 max for most rooms in AC.

Cupholders - When I was there they had a portable cupholder that was slotted into the table. It wasn't great, but it worked. I saw people order some pretty cool drinks that was on par with Starbucks frapps.
Location/Signage/Lighting - Completely agree. Dracula could have lived there safely, the lighting was that bad. The table itself was well lit due to the lights that hang over the tables.
Did that bar on the second floor near the poker room ever open? I passed by it several times and it always looked brand new.

Good catch there nrr !
I don't ever use the surface parking lot which is why it slipped my mind.
I'm not sure. It wouldn't surprise me if it was scrapped.

And now Revel is finally sued over the fine print in their summer promotion. It was only a matter of time.
