They have finished this promotion after their anniversary. Of course your mileage may vary.

Has anyone completed a stay with "waived resort fees"?

At the Flamingo LV this past weekend on a stay that was booked prior to the resort fee implementation (and, thus, their waiver as well), I inquired about the new fees. I was informed (possibly incorrectly) by a check-in agent that while the resort fee would be "waived" on future reservations I would still be charged for local calls and daily in-room internet under the old rates ($1.50 per local call and $13.99/day for internet) on such stays.

That might vary from casino to casino and the reason for the waiver. But if there is uniform application, it appears that at Caesars the answer is that there is no internet charge (no local calls made so not sure on that). YMMV

In early April I stayed 3 nights comped at The Rio. At checkout over $60 resort fees on bill. I questioned it and they removed the fees because I am a Platinum card member.

Question

So if the resort fees are waived, does that mean you can get internet for free, or would you have to pay separately?

I'm getting my resort fees at Paris waived on an upcoming trip (due to status) but would like to use the internet access if it doesn't cost a lot extra.

This is an annoying part - waiver of fees does not mean you get free internet service for one device, fitness center access for two, and/or free local calls! I've asked when checking-in and my host confirmed that the waiver of the fee does not mean these are available to you. However, if you're diamond, you can use the wireless internet in the diamond lounge.

I stayed at harrahs LV a couple of weeks ago. As a platinum my resort fees were waived plus there were no wifi fees for any of my devices (think it was 2 but might have been 3).

I just completed a 5 night comped stay at Paris. Resort fees were waived, but when I asked at the front desk if they would still be waived if I chose to use the Wi-fi, I was told "if you don't use the service, the fees are waived." However, "if you decide to use the service you will have to pay the fee."

I tested it using my laptop and was immediately taken to the 'pay up or forget it' page...

In the past I've just paid the Internet fee and had my host remove the fees afterwards.

As far as the fitness center goes, I believe platinum members have to pay a fee but diamond /7 star members do not. I will test this out in a week. First time going as a diamond!

It looks like they're charging a $20 resort fee for Atlantic City properties now for Platinums and below. Great way to attract people down there.

Not just in AC. Vegas, too. $$ amount varies depending on property, but Plats and below are being charged resort fees as of sometime in November 2014.

I've heard speculation this may have been due to an influx of Platinums from the credit card. Or maybe it's just because of the bankruptcy?

As a 7* member, I normally don't pay the taxes in AC, nor the resort fee in LAS. I get free internet and movies.
I had an annoying phone issue in LAS (I assume it would be the same in AC): The rate card in my room notes for long distance "$1.50 access fee + operator assisted/min rate" [even direct dialed calls]. I inquired before making a call--the agent checked, it be only $0.75/min; a ONE minute call was over $15.00...it was removed due to "mis-information".

iirc Internet used to be free for diamonds but we are charged for that now. at least the gym is free...

frankly, I don't think platinum should come with any benefits. 5000 TCs is 2-3 short trips for most casual, $25 table game players.

As a Diamond, since the beginning of the institution of resort fees in LV, I have not received internet for free without human (casino host) intervention. The internet in the Diamond Lounges has continued to be free for me though.
