Comps and free play are based off your theo. So, if you're able to achieve Diamond in one day then your theo should be rather high. Just don't have your play "recorded" if you lower your bets, since it will decrease your high theo, which means your future comps/free play will get affected as well.

Just keep in mind that you should NEVER play for comps. Its always cheaper to pay for your hotel, F&B, and show tickets than play for those comps.

Diamond will be achievable with 2 days play at 2500 TCs earned per day + 10000 bonus tier credits and Seven Star's will similarly be achievable with 20 days play at 2500 TCs earned per day + 100000 bonus tier credits.

This would suit me. I earned 35000 TCs in about 15 days play last year. it will provide greater chance/incentive to heavy hitters who are infrequent visitors perhaps for geographical reasons who had little chance under the old criteria of achieving Seven Star (if that can be called an achievement) .

As LOCommish pointed out it will probably weed out the daily visitors to the diamond lounges who got their entire nourishment and alcoholic intake for the year comped by Total Rewards for the 30 or so TCs they earned a day. Now they will have to bump their play up 50% or find a soup kitchen that serves Pina Coladas

Edit: On second thoughts I suppose they could still go to the Diamond Lounge daily but cut their play by 50% overall only gambling on 2 days each year but they would have to have a big bankroll available those 2 days
Since 2013, you can achieve Diamond in two trips as said above, i.e., 2,500 played + 5,000 bonus = 7,500 each time. The latest rule in 2014 add another option: 5,000 played + 10,000 bonus in one day (6 a.m. to 5:59 a.m.). So, you can make Diamond in one day or 7* with 10 trips. I think its quite worthwhile to get new status achieved in early this year, then you can enjoy the benefits for whole 2014 and whole 2015 up to March 31,2016. I've done my first 2,500 yesterday at a cost od net loss about $1,000.

I just verified with Harrah's that the definition of one day is from 6:00a.m. to 5:59a.m. next morning.

Hi. I would imagine results will always vary, but can you briefly describe your strategy to obtaining the 2,500 tier points for only $1,000.

FWIW I'm in SJ so I have AC and Harrah's Philly in my backyard.

Diamond Status now part of FoundersCard

Hilton HHonors™ Gold status upgrade now through March 2016. Privileges include:
-Complimentary High-Speed Internet Access.

-25% bonus on all HHonors Base Points earned.
-Complimentary Continental Breakfast at select properties.

Caesars Total Rewards Complimentary Diamond Total RewardsŪ Status. Privileges include:

-Diamond Aspirations eligibility.

Preferred Member rates and privileges with major travel brands now includes:
-Sofitel Hotels
-Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces
-Waldorf AstoriaŪ Hotels & Resorts

Considering that FoundersCard membership can be had for less than $500 (through promotions) I "guess" this is like buying Caesars Diamond Status for a decent price (plus you get a bunch of other status programs).

I'll follow-up with more info as it presents itself, since this is very recent news.

The link does not work unless you are logged in...I know a couple people that would jump at less than $500 for diamond (with Hilton Gold to boot) - how can that be done?

At the same time, it pisses me off that they are finding more ways to give it away...I guess the Diamond lounges will get even more crowded.

I was hoping that the changes they made last year would have thinned the ranks a bit come March. This certainly doesn't seem to indicate that will be the case ...

Under the old program they used to run something called "Diamond In A Day", run roughly $30K in coin in ("ci") on video poker, $15K on the slots, it would vary from property to property but this is the average number.

The new DIAD is tougher actually, but I'm happy to see the new 5K tier credits gets you 10K boinus. So, 10 50K ci plays at VP can get you 7*.

Best video poker for high rollers is at Horseshoe in Hammond IN, about 20 min from the Loop. But they don't have rooms, the theo is very low on those games (with perfect play, in the 99.92-99.96% range), so offers are low. If you are a higher tier 7* they'll probably put you up at the Kempton in the Loop. If not, it will be a CY or FF off of I-80 about 15 minutes south. Take the CY. Some players won't get a room comp.

When Jack Binion had the property, they put me up at the Renaissance downtown. Its a former Stouffers property. Those were the days lol.

Are you sure you'd get the normal tier credit on those machines? There is now a sign on the 9/6 machines at caesars AC saying they are $50 ci per tier credit. Not sure if they are new or if I just hadn't noticed them before. Don't know if they are on the $1/5 machines at Ballys.
