Fastest Route to Platinum

Hey FTers,

I've had the TR Gold card for 3 years now. Unfortuanately I don't gamble enough where I've even sniffed the next tier. I started gambling more frequently esp last year. I am headed to Vegas next week, again in May and probably one more time in Aug and any given weekend I'll drive up to AC.

What is the quickest method for me to get to the next tier? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated!!

If you can drive up to AC, the DIAD (Diamond in a Day) and PIAD (Platinum in a Day) programs are still valid. AFAIK, this applies to all Caesars (Harrah's) properties nationwide, but always confirm before.

I'd be glad to assist you with the Platinum and Diamond in a Day Promotions. To participate in the Platinum in a Day promotion, simply earn 2000 base credits during one gaming day. For the Diamond in a Day,simply earn 3000 base credits during one gaming day (6am-5:59am) at any of our Harrah's Entertainment owned casinos in Atlantic City. Please know that in order to participate all base credits must be earned at one casino (earning 1500 at Bally's and 1500 at Caesar's will not qualify you for the promotion). We certainly hope that this information proves helpful.
As always, verify with the casino where you are planning to do the promotion (or with Total Rewards in advance via email). Gaming day is key, and varies by property and market. Since this promotion has changed, over the years, it's always best to be safe.

Also, be aware that Total Rewards Platinum doesn't get you very much more than some 'priority lines' (cafe, check-in, buffet) in Vegas.

For a craps player, roughly what kind of play is required to earn 2,000-3,000 base credits?

Just pass line + odds.......no place, hard-ways, or one-time bets

I've mainly shot at MGM properties (Bellagio, Mirage and NYNY), and they don't rate the odds. But they do rate come and place.

I am not sure about Harrah's properties rating odds or not.

I am staying at Bally's during the Super Bowl and was wondering how they rated table players as well. I've heard they're pretty tough.

AFAIK, DIAD and PIAD promotions are still applicable in Vegas; and are the same point requirements as AC. Actually, I 'think' it's the same point requirements nationwide at all Total Rewards Properties. (years ago, DIAD AND PIAD had different requirements at different properties).

Regarding base credits for table play; I can only give you the data-points that I have; since this is something not revealed by Total Rewards. It also does vary from (table) game to game; and in each market.

But, FWIW, 3 hour 15 minutes at $203/average + 4 hours at $165 average results is approximately 2000 base points. (I don't recall the RCs bonus points earned). This is also for baccarat (in AC), but I've experienced similar at dice; though I don't have those figures handy at the moment.

The 'key' is to have the longest session possible and to exceed a $100 average; well, at least, that has been my observation with regard to maximizing base (and reward) credits for table players.

Also, Total Rewards properties 'usually' DO NOT rate the odds portion of your bets.

At Harrah's, Caesar's, and Bally's in A.C., as well as the Flamingo in Vegas they will count your odds bets in craps . . . I'm a $10/$15 passline bettor with at least 3X odds, in addition to two come bets with the same odds. I always ask the pit what I rated after I color up, and it has consistently been in the $150-$200 range.

As for another data point, a few weekends ago in A.C. I played blackjack for 6 hours and Bally's and Caesar's at a $100 minumum table, and craps for around 3 hours at the same properties using the betting scheme I noted above. This was good for around 2200 base credits.

This is quoted for truth. I am regretting deeply that I did not make the Diamond threshold before 12/31 and I came up hundreds short (talking less than 100). I have only had one week long trip since then to AC and I guess I can keep waiting for a pit boss, manager or somebody to magically appear back to me with a Diamond card instead of the Plat, haha, I can keep dreaming though.

thanks nottooshabby/baccarat king,

both of you gave some good info on how many base credits one can earn. i make trips to AC every so often, but i have very short durations of play so i never build many base credits. i may decide to try for DIAD soon, although i can't see myself sitting there for that long. we shall see.

what you guys are reporting looks like the upper end of my play, but when i'm playing well, i'll avg 150-200/hand on BJ. when it's going bad, i back it down to 25-50/hand. looks like i would need a full 8-9hr day of playing to get around 3000 base credits.
