But with their current stance on comps, that's made Grazie a lot less appealing.
Status match to GRAZIE GOLD, then you can re-qualify with only $1.5K spend.

And, yes, the suite rate (if you are not on a comp) would count towards the spend.

But, as mentioned above, and I feel it's fair to repeat again :

Why bother? GRAZIE GOLD has no value. I've been GRAZIE GOLD for a few years, and I'm trying to understand why anyone would be interested in this status. (or would consider $6K spend to be a good value for this status)

While it has been diluted a bit, over the past few years, Caesars (Total Rewards) Diamond is a much more useful status than GRAZIE GOLD.

Agreed, Grazie Gold's minimal perks previously are now worthless. A good friend of mine who would never reach Gold now attains it regularly and reminds me of it .

I am MLife Platinum as well w/ just under 800K in "tier points". My question, which I have not been able to get an answer from Mlife.com, is "do my tier points get me anything other than my tier?" For instance, can I convert my 800K in points for something, or do my points just get me the benefits under the specific tier level?

From my reading of the perks, you get $0.02 in "express comps" [which can be used for food, beverage, rooms etc.] for every MLIFE point you earn. So 700,000 (say) x 0.02 = $14,000 But maybe there is more to the equation. I'll be arriving in LAS in about 90 minutes, and I'll check with the MLIFE people and post more info later.
[Harrahs uses base points for placing people in various tiers Diamond, Plat. etc. and these translate to comps, one point = $0.01, so maybe my computation above is not all that off.]

Like elite status qualifying miles on airlines, it's only for the tier status.

some "new" info on mlife

I just returned from las vegas and after reading the various booklets and speaking to "mlife" agents:
To reach Platinum (their highest "listed" level) you need 200,000 mlife points. Sapphire and Pearl (the two lowest levels), get one point for every $2 played on a non-poker slot; gold members get one point for every $1.75 and plats 1 point for every $1.50. Your mlife points = 10 x your (regular) points. [So you need 20,000 points to get to platinum level--why they couldn't just use 20,000 points instead of the multiplier by 10 is not clear] So to retain platinum status (if you are already platinum) if you play $30,000 in a year (@$1.50 per point) you will reach 20,000 points.
Express Comps: (similar to Harrahs rewards credits), for each 1 point earned you get $0.02 in express comps, which can be used to pay for most hotel amenities (except tips). [A platinum member would get to use at least 20,000 x 0.02 = $400 of these in a year.]
Harrahs requires 11,000 base points (1 point = $5 played), hence a minimum of $55,000/year to retain diamond status. Accumulating rewards (comp) credits varies by locale, in las vegas, generally (once you get over 500 base tier credits in a day) the tier credits are multiplied by 4. In Atlantic City the multiplier seems to be around 1.5--but almost every day is a multiplier day somewhere varying from 3x to as much as 150x.
There are supposed to be special lines at the buffets for gold and plats in mlife, at Bellagio, the line at the buffet is still marked "invited" guests, when I used that line with only my mlife plat card (since there were no waiting lines at when I got there) I couldn't tell if they were honoring my card.
There are NO special lines at the casino cages, players club (mlife) for plats and NO platinum lounges--so Harrahs is one up on them for these perks.
[My offers in the mgm group have generally included free food credit, some of them still do but others may now be expecting me to use my Express Comps.]
They claim you can book offers directly at the mlife.com site, but I couldn't get that to work.

I just came back from my weekend trip. I previously had an old MGM/Players card from a few years ago that I never used. I went up to the desk and asked if they could do a status match to a TR Diamond or Grazie Gold. She proceeded to say no and that they have to look at my play in order to upgrade my status so she gave me a saphire card.

By the end of my trip, I logged in about 9.5 hours at Aria playing baccarat. I now have about 95,000 tier points and a Gold card with mlife. I am waiting to see what I can do online via vs a host. I hope I can book offers/free rooms, etc through mlife like what I do with TR.

I also just got back from Aria. I am a platinum tier player. As a special invite for mlife, they gave me $23 in ExpressComps...wahoo!, 1/6 of 1 bet.

I was just there for 2 nights, both comp'd with $200 in freeplay and 2 buffets. I played 7hrs, 36 minutes 6 deck BJ at $136/bet (verified by players club). My BJ play is by the book with regard to strategy and betting. I also played various slots and accumulated 1900 old style points.

This play was awarded $117 in Express Comps. I also had no resort fees, but I am not sure if they were comp'd prior or under some secret Express Comp system. So, hopefully this helps those who want to calculate their comps.

I go to Vegas about every month, my play is usually 4-6hrs BJ per day for 3 days at $100-$200. Usually I never ask for additional comps as I am a burger and beer guy and would rather not have the "put it on your room and we shall see" hanging over me. I like the Express Comps. Even though it is obvious they are paying less, I see them accumulate, can spend them how I like, and they accumulate over time.

Played at NYNY.

Presented old style card.

Never got it back. Pit boss came back later with the new M Life card.

At least at NYNY, even though had the free slot play and a 2 night comp stay, NYNY still charged the resort fee.

Bellagio (still) doesn't charge a resort fee; Mandalay Bay doesn't if the room is comped.

Steve,

Did you book your offer through a host or mlife.com?

I am rather disappointed with what I see at mlife.com. It was my first trip that I played heavy (in my opinion) at an MGM property (Aria). I stayed across the strip from Aria at PH since I get comp rooms automatically from TR. As from my previous post, I played about 9.5 hours for 3 days at about $350 per hand in baccarat (verified by a host). The host says she can comp me free rooms/limo etc but when I log into mlife.com, I see rooms available but are at a rate. Even rooms at lower end props charge me. I was hoping I can book free rooms, offers, etc like what I do sometimes with TR but even with my Gold status at MGM, I don't get free rooms automatically? I don't get it. Hopefully it will just take them time to update my account?

If I have to go through a host every time, I will probably just stick with my Diamond status at Caesars.

Most of my offers at mlife.com are comped offers, but I can't seem to book these directly on the internet. (Before mlife.com they claimed that booking a room on playersclub.com was possible, except for one or two promos that didn't work either.) In general slot players (like me) get better offers than table game people. Also many of my offers come in the mail and are NOT listed on mlife.com.
PS: For many of my TR offers, they also come by mail and are not listed on harrahs.com--but harrahs makes booking rooms very easy.
