180-days-out no redeem fee Catch-22
Frontier claims over 180-days-out
award seats have no redeem fee, right?
Catch-22: online dates do NOT
go forward that far?!?!?!?
What am I missing...?

Currently they are accepting bookings through October 26. By my count that's 6 months and 6 days from now.
There is a solution,
Step 1: Book an award flight for the route you want that is more than 180 days out. (No booking fee.)
Step 2: Change the flight to the date that you actually want. (No change fee.)
I haven't been tracking Frontier schedule extensions but I'd expect another extension fairly soon.

As Frontier newbie, I was under pressure
to burn 40K ff mi asap, 4/20 expiration.
I made 1st 2x10K June trip with proper $15 redeem fee;
I didn't know 6 days were in play as over 180-days away,
so I made Sep 2x10K rt knowing I could change free to 2017,
BUT
then called Frontier & reported a 180-day Catch-22
& to my surprise, was offered $50 voucher
, which,
after $15 unwated Sep redeem fee coverage, leaves
$35 towards (now acceptable) 2x$25 carry-on fees in June!
No longer pursuing18"-ONLY June travel...
