With current sales, not including promo codes, some very competitive fares popped up today. Among them are:
DEN-DAL $49
Thanks for the heads up. I need to head to DFW in July, so I need to firm up those dates.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, it looks like the new DEN-BMI route must be doing well. A search from Jul 9 - Aug 9 had mostly $269 OW fares. I guess I'll be heading back into MDW as their fares remain below $100 OW. Even STL is only about $125 OW.
How did you find this fare? I need it mid week in late August. Best I see with "choice" promo is 123.25. Thanks...
That fare was available on the day of the post. As fares usually are the lowest when booking on a Tuesday or Wednesday, I suggest checking every Tuesday and Wednesday for a low fare. You can also watch for the promo codes that are usually posted for an additional discount.
If you are not familiar with Frontier's calendar on the website, it will show fares by date for a particular route, with the ability to look through the entire current open booking period. http://www.frontierairlines.com/spec...mLink=everyday
A few days ago I booked one of the $55 AI DEN-DFW trips (8/18, arrives at 645p FWIW).
Since the flight was so cheap and I want to move some stuff from CO to TX anyway, I tweeted @FrontierCare minutes after I booked and asked if I could up my fare to Classic Plus (yes, overkill, but I might as well make my second-to-last F9 flight a memorable one).
I knew that I couldn't expect the upgrade to go through, but F9 was generous and allowed me to pay the extra $55 for the fare upgrade, bringing the full ticket price to roughly what I would have paid for Economy if I had booked that day (the $55 fare bin had one ticket in it when I booked the night before).
So...I guess that means Frontier's AirFairs are working?

I hope that one day they will make it so you can "up" your fare on the site before your trip or that they would do upsells on day of. I think a lot of people might go for that, say at the kiosk, "we noticed you are checking a bag, for $10 more you can upgrade to Classic, these are the benefits, etc..."
That would indeed be useful (back in 2007 I remember an AA kiosk in SAT offering a First upgrade SAT-DFW for maybe $100) but that would probably require some extensive customization to the kiosk software.
That said, it would probably also increase F9's revenue stream that much more. Pricing could actually be comparable at check-in to online to upgrade fares because at that point it's just a bundle of benefits (better seating, checked bags, TV, miles) rather than the bunch of benefits plus more liabilities (no change fees etc.).
This fare is available for select Tue, Wed, and Sat dates into December.
I saw that one yesterday while booking a trip on the DEN-PHX route. Unfortunately, I didn't take advantage of it, because Frontier's schedule didn't mesh with mine, i.e. I need to be in PHX by 2p on a Mon. (F9's flight arrives too early) and depart after 6:30p on a Tuesday (F9 didn't have an evening flight).
For whatever reason, this route is really cheap. I ended up booking USAirways first class for $380 RT on an A321.
