Nice, starting in July F9 is now adding the movies for free if you get TV. That is a nice change and they seem to add value to their frequent fliers rather then taking it away. I take the free movie any day over the (crappy) free snacks I get as a Summit. Doesn't state though if the bundled price is now higher then the TV or movie price for the ones that need to pay.
DirecTV® or a movie ... can't decide? No problem! Starting in July, when you fly on one of our Airbus aircraft, you can get access to both 25 channels of live satellite TV and our lineup of feature movies. All with one swipe. All for one low, bundled price. And it's even better news for our Ascent and Summit members, as well as those of you traveling on a Classic or Classic Plus fare, because now you automatically get to watch movies without an additional charge. The only hard part will be deciding what to watch.
And here's news you'll really eat up. During your flight, please watch for our new Colorado-based products. We're proud to feature burritos from Evol, trail mix from Mountain Man and even Colorado Native beer. Enjoy!
We wish you a wonderful summer, and thank you for your continued loyalty.

I wonder if the cost for those not comped will increase from the current price. I keep looking at that word "bundled."
Keep the movies. Keep the TV. Restore the service that was slashed at MKE, and those of us that were loyal might stay loyal.
If the people of MKE had chosen to support F9 instead of Airtran, Southwest, and every other airline there might still be F9 service there, an aircraft maintenance base, a reservations center and hundreds of employees. You voted with your pocketbook, MKE.

I guess it's a matter of one's perspective. I for one, enjoy the new free snacks. Considering how often they've been out of Animal Crackers on my flights, I'd say they are pretty popular.

Personally, I think they've done a great job with their limited channel selections. My daughter, wife, and myself have never had trouble finding something we enjoyed watching. I love the fact they have the major networks, along with CNBC, MSNBC, and the ESPN family of channels.

Seems like 1/2 the time they are out of Animal Crackers. What's your experience?

They haven't had MSNBC for quite a while in my experience - they previously had listed it doubled up with CNBC (though whatever time of day I was flying it seemed I only ever saw Jim Cramer's spittle-flecked rants on there), but in their newer guides they only list CNBC.
New bundled pricing structure based on flight length
Effective 07/01/2012, pricing for IFE will be based on the length of travel, ranging from a low cost of $3.99 for flights under 2 hours, up to a maximum cost of $7.99 for flights longer than 3.5 hours. The IFE is now a bundled product, comprised of both DIRECTV® and movie channels on Airbus flights. Of course, elites, Classic, and Classic Plus customers do not pay extra for IFE on Frontier.
Hopefully this will achieve the goal of higher uptake. I never used the DirecTV until I got it for free, and I find it nice to pass the time. However, I expect that it needs to be revenue positive for them to have it installed on any of the new NEOs they'll be getting in a few years.

The new pricing structure should result in greater sales on shorter flights.
Also of note, "Customers on flights less than two hours will enjoy access to the 24 channels of DIRECTV service and a lineup of pre-recorded shows."
I think this is a smart move by Frontier. I hope they sell more IFE because I definitely want this airline to stay around, and compete with Southwest and United in DEN.
