I'm sorry, I couldn't find a better place to post this or else I would, but since this is the "sweepstakes resources" thread...
Is there a way to mark a thread so that I know I've already read it? Since new contests post daily, I can never remember which ones I've entered and which I haven't, so I end up trying to do links that I have already done. Thanks!

It's not foolproof, but the titles of threads you have previously opened up should be in a lighter shade of blue than threads you haven't.
For daily sweeps, it is a lot easier to just bookmark them so you can go back to them without even having to open up FT. I have a special bookmark folder just for sweepstakes, and bookmark daily sweeps by ending date. This method works for me, but other folks may have better ideas.

Thanks! Unfortunately, it only works for stuff I clicked on same day. But I do like the bookmark idea! After looking through the thread, it doesn't appear that too many are added on a daily basis, so I should be able to keep up.
Flyingmama suggested that I start a thread here. Just curious if the sweepstakes wins by members in this forum have been local contests, mail-in, or internet? I never seem to win anything.

Thank you in advance.
I would hazard a guess that most of the wins reported in this forum are from internet sweeps since that is the kind usually posted here. That said, most sweeping experts (and I am by no means a real expert) believe the odds are better for local and mail-in sweeps since fewer people tend to enter those. In fact my most recent trip was from an internet sweepstakes restricted just to the state of Florida (post #434 in the Who has won anything thread) so there is probably some truth in that.
Those are sometimes difficult to find, so I would recommend starting with your local chain grocery store. Why the grocery store? Because they often sponsor or have information about dozens of sweepstakes going on, although not necessarily for trips. Publix has been very good to me - not only did I win my recent trip(s) from Publix, but previously a $500 gift card and various smaller gift cards as well. Whole Foods also sponsors sweepstakes at times, as do Kroger, Winn-Dixie and others. Go to the manager's office and ask. Sometimes it's as simple as that, although I have to admit most supermarket managers are generally clueless about such things. But sometimes they'll remember they have snail mail entry forms squirrled away in the office they have forgotten to put out.
I stopped doing snail mail sweeps a while ago because it is time consuming and expensive, although occassionally I will send in for codes if a sweepstakes I really want to enter requires a unique code. Usually it is cheaper to send away for a code than it is to buy the product they're promoting, unless you really, really like the product. Coca Cola and Pepsi Cola immediately come to mind in that department. Both offer frequent sweepstakes and both usually require a code.
Internet sweeps are probably the most popular sweeps going on now because they're easy to find and to enter, especially if you join one of the major websites like Online-Sweepstakes.com. Just remember the odds are significantly lower there because so many more people are entering. It's not impossible, though. I have won trips to Las Vegas, California, Bermuda and Iceland through this type of sweepstakes, plus other non-trip prizes. One time entry sweeps give you a better chance at winning than daily entry sweeps because the playing field is more level.
Facebook is a rapidly growing sweepstakes medium, so you might want to take a look at the ones being offered there. For example, Orbitz has a big sweepstakes going on at the moment with 50 trips up for grabs.
No matter which way you decide to go, the only way to win is to enter, enter, enter ... and then enter some more. Persistance and patience are the keywords here. There is no magic forumal to winning ... just persistance and patience.

cashnetsweeps
I have been using this site for several years. Visited once a day and spent a few minutes scrolling through the day's new sweeps & only entered one entry sweeps w/ prizes over $2k and sometimes daily entry sweeps with big prizes (cars, etc.) and desirable trips. Have won several prizes. BUT about a week ago I noticed the site suddenly has stopped posting daily sweeps. I think the owners may be falling way behind or not sure what is happening. There are many sites recommended here. Which internet site is similar to cashnetsweeps and is free (no subscription) and is easy to use?
