Automated entries prohibited....

Not sure exactly what that means, but I can take a guess based on what some folk have said on this forum (some site auto-entries you into a zillion sweeps)...

Anyway, just to let you know - 99% of the sweeps I post have "auto entries prohibited" listed as part of the rules. I don't always include that due to time factor/# of sweeps I'm posting; as you all know I post a lot of sweeps...

But thought I'd give everyone a heads-up: if they see a sweeps from me, the auto entry no-no thing probably applies.

I'm NOT taking responsibility for any who post that way & get bounced. You can always read the rules before posting.

But figure if I let you know up front 99% of them are no-auto that helps you.

Good luck to everyone - may they win lots of trips!

Cheers.

PS - I'm gonna ask FT to make this post a sticky for those who are new to the forum.

Thanks for the heads-up, Sharon. And we appreciate all the effort you put into this.

I believe what they are referring to is the companies that you can pay that will automatically enter your information on different contest website. It saves you the repeated effort of doing it yourself. But it does not mean you can't use roboform and do it yourself.

Have no idea if they mean the pay ones or roboform. Be interesting to ask a judging agency, not that I know any.

I manually enter all sweeps as I don't enter that many per day. Guess my take would be if there's something you're truly truly interested in winning, why take a chance of being disqualified, & to fill that one out manually. But of course it's up to each individual to do what works best for him/her.

Cheers.

Technically, roboform is a form filler, not an auto entry program, so the prohibition may not apply to the use of a form filler. Or it may, who knows?

But I agree with Sharon - any sweeps you're really interested in should be manually typed "just in case."

I just read someone an article the other day where a guy who wins a lot recommends roboform, so that presumably means no probition on that, but just the auto-entry thing.

Also a reminder - that if a prize is offered by ePrize & it says 1x only, you can't enter multiple people on the same machine cuz it reads the IP.

Form Fill included?

Does the automated entries rule include the 'Form Fill' feature that is on my laptop? As soon as a form comes up on the screen it enters myname etc. I'm just not clear if that is a no-no in these sweepstakes or not?

Sharon,

I saw one of your other posts with a contest (from ePrize I believe) that reads the IP address and you mentioned it would delete all entries from the same computer even if it is different people.

I alway enter both my DH and myself using each of our very different email addresses. How can I make sure I haven't bounced myself out of contests? Where should I look to see if that will happen?

TIA! Beth

Use a different computer. For example, enter once at home and once at work.
