I'm going to Iceland! Just got the confirming letter today from Icelandair. It was a sweepstakes sponsored by Equitrekking and the prize includes roundtrip air, three night hotel, Blue lagoon tour and a horse safari. The horse safari ought to be a hoot since I haven't ridden in 35 years, but a large supply of Aleve ought to help. Haven't set a date yet, but according to the letter the trip has to be taken in September or October. Wish me well

Congrats, flyingmama. There was a mistake airfare to Iceland a few years back. FTers raved about the beauty of the island. Enjoy your trip!

Have a great trip flyingmama!! Well-deserved. I've heard Iceland is beautiful.

I just received this via email:

Ok so it's not the 1,000,000 miles sweepstakes or even the first prize of 25,000 miles in the monthly Hemispheres sweepstakes, but it's still a prize & pretty cool.

Dear SkiAdcock:

"Congratulations, you have been selected as a Random Prize Winner of the Hemispheres July Enter and Win contest. You have won a Sanyo Xacti VPC-E1 camcorder."

http://sanyodigital.com/product.aspx?v=1

I'll be posting a lot of sweeps this weekend. I'm in my 2x/year busy time at work, so haven't been able to do since the 10th but should be able to do so over the 3-day weekend.

Cheers.

Awesome, Sharon, re the camcorder. You can start taking videos to share with your sister.

I'm so pleased to see the folks who post all the sweeps for the rest of us win prizes. That is great.

Excellent win Flyingmama. I was thinking this thread went cold for too long so we were overdue for some big wins. Skiadcock's win of a camcorder is nice too! Thanks for all your contest posts!

Beijing and the Olympics were great! They had a car waiting for us at the airport to take us to our 4* hotel, all the meals and drinks, A section tickets and transportation to the games were provided. Cosport hospitality passes where we could stop and have a drink and watch other games on TV. A progressive dinner moving from room to room with Peking duck, dim sum, beef noodle and Beijing soup, sushi, and dumplings. After you had your fill in each room you returned to table for large buffet.
We had tickets to men’s basketball (USA vs. Greece and Argentina vs. Croatia), woman’s team gymnastics, beach volleyball (women USA vs. China), and diving.
Took us to the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square. In what little time we had between games we did some shopping and walking around the city. All of the people in Beijing were wonderful and tried to make sure we felt welcome.
We had a 2-½ hour layover in Tokyo on the way home. (PEK-NRT-DTW)
If things could not get any better, while waiting for our flight to Detroit the GA asked if we would like to get on the flight leaving in 10 min? I told him sure, its is better then sitting around here! He took your boarding passes and gave us new ones business class to DTW.
The only thing we had to pay for was our shopping and incidental hotel charges.
Great prize!

Welcome to FlyterTalk, mvtm! We're glad you found your way out of the AAdvantage forum so you could join us here.

Unfortunately for you, most of the sweepstakes/contests posted here are for U.S. and/or Canadian residents, largely because U.S./Canadian marketers have found sweepstakes to be a great marketing tool, so there is a sizeable volume of them running.

I would urge you to keep your eye out for travel sweeps/contests available in your part of the world and post them here. That might help spark an increase in postings of non-U.S./Canadian sweeps from other FTers. We can only hope, right?

Talking

the only thing I ever won in my life was a box of SoBe t-shirts that sort of just arrived at my door step... I don't even remember entering the drawing, nevermind if it was actually through FT or not.

now I gotta win a flight to SoBe so I could actually wear them!
