I got an email yesterday from Brides magazine that I have won a 7-night stay at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Los Cabos. The estimated retail value is around $13K, and I took a look at the resort's website and it looks amazing! All accommodations are suites, and the one I won is a luxury suite, which has your own private Jacuzzi and swimming pool. It also includes breakfast every day and a dinner on the beach. I am super excited!!

I'm thinking we'll either go in May for my husband's b-day or in October for our anniversary. I have until next November to use it. It doesn't include airfare either, but I think we can come up with that LOL. Especially to have a relaxing week in our own private suite (with a rooftop terrace) and private jacuzzi, outdoor shower, etc.

Although I've read some info on the resort and it appears meals are ridiculously expensive, so we will see about renting a car and heading to some of the other (cheaper) restaurants in town. I've never been to Cabo (or Mexico at all) so I'll need to do some research on what to do there if we leave the resort grounds.

Also consider making a 'dummy' booking at the resort for the timeframe when you'll be there. You may find that it's less than $13K, in which case you would only be on the tax hook for the 'real' value of the prize. Congrats on winning - I entered that one too. Glad an FTer got it!

Congrats! A prize arrived in the mail for me yesterday - a pack of 5 pens It wasn't an FT sweeps; I was hoping to win the Sony home theatre system. Ah well, saves me a few $$ at Staples.
