Yes, mailing postcards does work, I used to only enter those types of contests as it seemed easier to win, and at the time I did. The best I've ever won was an all expenses paid trip to a Hollywood Premier for two, airfare, hotel, food, and the premier, it was great. So get some post cards and go for it. If you don't want your info out in the open, just use an index card in a a security envelope, or fold the card in a piece of paper.
