Car seat in Paris

Can somebody please let me know if car seat for a 4 year old is mandatory for cabs/taxis in Paris?

They must be in a seat (you can't put them in the cargo area) but you won't need a separate child seat.

French traffic law (R412-2) allows kids to travel without a child safety seat in official cabs ("taxi") only. Uber and other vehicles for hire are not covered by this exemption.
