I am upset to discover that my M class tickets from Asia to North America this summer will now only earn 75% of the miles. I would like to switch to WorldPerks, but feel like I'm being "held hostage" not knowing if I can transfer over my miles and retain my status. The status is most important to me since I like being able to select premium seats using my gold elite status. Does anyone know whether I can open up a World Perks account and then change my frequent flier information after I've already chosen premium seats?

I just did that and so far the premium seats are still showing as confirmed, actually I used a DL number since 25% vs 100% - that's like a quadruple miles promotion

Thanks! So, would it be possible to try doing that and then attempt to switch from FB to WorldPerks by "consolidating" my accounts? What is so frustrating is that we were originally WorldPerks, but when we moved to the middle east, we weren't given a choice, we were forced to switch to KLM. Then when we moved to Asia, since FB is also in Asia, it seems like we can't switch back. We do own property in the US and could use that address as a mailing address, but I've heard that since FB is also in North America, they don't have to allow you to make the switch.
With AirFrance-KLM taking ever more control of SkyTeam, and with Delta Airline's management notorious for its customer-unfriendly ways (with regard to the value of miles in SkyMiles and also WorldPerks) and being ever more in cahoots with AF-KL, I see no reason to maintain or increase the relationship with SkyTeam airlines on the basis of these SkyTeam airline "loyalty" programs.

I spoke to Flying Blue today, and they have earning rates in their system that are nowhere close to what's posted online. For example, in the case of KL long haul earnings:
Published on airfrance.ch:
Quote:
M - 75%
L, H, Q, K - 75%
Per the agent I spoke to, who double checked with a supervisor before confirming:
Quote:
M, L, H, Q, K - 100%
My pessimistic expectation for the above was that the second 75% was a typo and should read 50%, but not according to the agent.
She did indicate that their system got updated on April 1 as well, and on 2 occasions, she checked with her supervisor.
I've now contacted the Complaints Department to see if I can get any clarification in writing. I'm not taking verbal answers for valid any more.
Cheers,
GenevaFlyer
May be the agent checked with a couple of supervisors, but I am afraid that your pessimistic expectations were right. The AF website has now been updated and clearly shows only 50% for L, H, Q, K (and 75% for M).
OK, folks, having still to get used to the new FB accrual rules, maybe some deep-thinking FTer(s) may be able to help me out here ...
I've just been looking at a possible EDI-LCY r/t on AF/CityJet (nice wee Dorniers, and a convenient route/schedule); two things suprised me:
(1) The AF booking-engine actually predicts the right (sorry, correct - "right" just doesn't seem to fit, somehow) amount of miles!
(2) Choosing a "V" fare (50% mileage) gives a lower price than choosing an "N" fare (25% mileage)!
FYI, the fares were for flights on the same day but slightly different times. OK, so the extra 374 miles aren't really that much, but now I'm really confused!
does someone have the correct email addresses of the FB (or AF/KL) top management?
.. would like to complain by email to them - and perhaps other members would like to do as well - but I only know this stupid noreply@...

Hi All!
Just a quick question - after reading all the changes and T&Cs, still can't seem to find the answer:
If 15 level flights is enough to qualify for a Silver level, how long should it take for the change to happen from posting of that 15th flight in the Mileage Summary online?

Shouldn't take more than a couple of days at most.

I have screen shots from the www.airfrance.com link to my FB account, which describes the April 1 changes next to an interview with Herbert. That 'Earning Miles' link has DL and KE earning 150% on Business Class.
But I recall that when I checked the 'Earning Miles' link from the FB dropbown menu from the www.airfrance.com homepage, it USED to say that DL was 125%. As of today, that link shows 150% for Business.
Looks like some harmonization amongst their sprawling website system is underway.

Sorry if this has already been covered. I have looked but can't find the specific answers for which I am looking. My understanding is that Ivory members must use their award miles within 20 months of obtaining them.
1. If an Ivory member makes a qualifying flight within the 20 months, are the previously obtained award miles (ie those ontained at the start of the 20 month period) extended?
2. As a Platinum member, is there a time limit on using my award miles?
Thanks.
