Weird definition of " for life". FB clearly don't value your historic custom as they have forgotten your historic experience informs your current choice- that's why my miles are historic and my business goes elsewhere now!!!
Guess KLM's true aim here is to turn all their 747's to freighters rather than their current tentative experiments with giving half up to pesky passengers. Perhaps the next FFP "enhancement" will be a new travel class where you are lashed under a cargo net to a pallet!
Don't complain, just vote with your feet/wallet!
contradicting to what has been reported by FB Canada, it seems that in the website linked from the other thread, http://www.flyingblue-info.com/uk/cumul.html# , shows that earning on all ST members are affected by this rule.

Seems everything is still rather blur.
That link does not show any specific fare class tied to any specific mileage earning percentage with ST partners. I have RE-CONTACTED FB Canada and they stand by their info.

It would be great if this would be officially confirmed by FB. If so then the case would be closed and I would be back to what I did for the last couple of years i.e. fly Delta year-in year-out and accrue EQM on LP.

OK, folks, so the general 'consensus' is that there is still a mass of confusion about FB mileage earning rates on ST ... so unlike Flying Blue, huh!
There's also obvious confusion in this forum - for which, I hasten to add, I attach no blame to any particular poster (nicht Schnapps for me today, alanw) ...

So, I'll just have to wait until after Easter (when I'll have taken my CO "W" flights). If we still don't know by then, I'll let FT know just what mileage rate I actually earned (others may have the chance before me)!
But I'll be 'somewhat disgruntled' if my 11,000 EQMs shrivel to just 2,750!
All in all, a fascinating thread! Are we allowed sweepstakes on FT?

If you select CO or NW it shows 0, 25% and so on ... I don't believe FB Canada here; they mislead me before.

Many feel the same way. They cannot be trusted. In 5 years time they'll sell us another change as a great improvement or cancel some of the benefits such as lifetime PE; the small print in the t&cs probably allows them to do so.

Just called the Dutch FB service desk and the lady confirmed that (a) the changes were for Award AND Level miles, (b) there were no changes in the miles accrual for other airline partners such as NW. On my question of whether a T- or Q-class ticket on NW (with NW flight code, so not booked through KLM) would earn 100% the response was affirmative.
Thus, my next flights will be NW booked (avoiding KLM flight codes) through a travel agency...

AF/KL's handling of the whole affair was completely amateurish. By announcing the changes unilaterally without consulting their Skyteam partners, they created a hell of a lot of complications, which are impossible to be fixed now without a humiliating U-turn. NW, DL, among others, are not stupid to carry out the same changes now, they know they will lose business, and have probably refused to follow FB. What an interesting development!! I can't wait to see the end of it.

From FB Canada HelpDesk:
1. new mileage earning rates apply for flights FLOWN after April 1, even if they were purchased BEFORE April 1. So, its impirtant to know the new fare earning policy now.
2. The AF and KL earning rates are broken out by fare basis, so its clear the earning percentage for every class. The Skyteam partners information was presented in a much more vague fashion. Well, I've got very encouraging news for Skyteam partner flights; the mileage earning rates will NOT be changing:
NW:
JCZ= 150%
BHKLMQTY= 100%
V= 25%
DL:
ACDFJI= 150%
BGHKLMQVWXTVUS= 100%
CO:
CDJZR= 150%
GEBHKLMNQSTUVWY= 100%
O= 0%
KE:
CJR= 150%
TKMSYWZ= 100%
For a third time, I spoke with FB Canada and had all the same info reinforced as correct. One addition, CO 'O' fare will earn 0%.

Thanks again for all the work you are doing - very much in place of FB - to keep everyone informed!! Did they mention the other ST partners? FB UK won't provide any information Sorry to ask you, I tried to call FB Canada to ask direct since they seem much more responsive, but all I have is a 1-800 number which doesn't work from here for some reason...
I'm pretty sure that there must be 0 % earning classes - reward booking classes, that is. So in the indeed still blurry FB information on their websites, there'll always be 0 % booking classes.
Thanks beaubo for verifying this with FB Canada! While I trust beaubo, can we trust FB after all? I wish, we can, so there will be many, many FB members flying everything but AF/KL!
