Yes, I agree. We're seeing it across the airline industry as management introduce non-scoped changes to their FFP and are taken aback by the seismic intensity of the pushback. The DL case wasn't exactly a victory - at least not for the NW stakeholders - but it was a partial reversal of the most severe depradations, one that would not have been possible without an organized and strong voicing of opinions and actions.

As usual, these events are caused by management being out of touch with stakeholder values. There are too many Dilberts filtering or ignoring the grass roots opinion and not only at BA. Ultimately such disconnected systems experience revolution.

To the FFP changes. Sophisticated benefit-cost analyses need high quality data in order to generate reliable and actionable output. Without knowing how stakeholders really value features of the program, management introduce their own cost calculus into the equation - e.g. "eliminating award benefits won't cost us any high-rev business."

Such analyses cloak alternatives with spurious logic, and cause management investment in poor decision alternatives. The subsequent reversal of poor decisions is necessary but much more costly than their avoidance.

Given your witty reaction within 3 minutes, I am guessing you are not lethargic.

Lucky Dutch! AF has stopped offering web awards many months ago (almost a year). So CDG pax dont even have two of your pros (web awards and relatively cheap C fare to US). Maybe this was the first step of FB destruction. KL pax beware of the disappearance of web awards.

please post or PM me with this info! I was going to *A through BMI, but LH SEN (if they comp that from FB PE) would be another option!

Here is an idea I've been toying around with for postcards.

What goes on the back?

Due to the current economy, it's probable that AF/KLM will post a loss on their third quarter.

Will they claim shareholder will rejoice at this news, as they are aligning with the airline industry standard of losing money, and that in-depth research has demonstrated that their shareholders wanted them to reduce earnings and dividends ?

If so, we'll now that the head of FB communication was promoted to financial communication.

I don't believe that the image translates properly into French. What you are looking for is a central digit.

Anyone know of any 1w airlines willing to status match? *A is easy thanks to bmi and it looks like LH is adding another option to those who want to switch.
Although I already have BD*G I'll take a look at the LH offer as backup just in case I slip to BD*S which is possible this year as I only have 6 months to requalify for *G (due to the timing of my membership year - for the first 6 months of my diamond club year I was mostly flying SkyTeam).

I guess you're right although it is sad since I liked alan's image. I guess that a slightly subtler version than the raised finger would be the hand of a statue with the central finger missing. I remember seeing it but I can't remember in which museum it was and it is unbelieveable how the very objet manquant was clearly imagined by everyone and making everybody laugh!! Still, maybe too subtle I guess.

Johan

I called them: they are not aware of such a promotion. And the websites mentions nothing. Seems to be a hoax.

Shouldn't stop anyone to try though

Absolutely Fantastic, Alan. I am already thinking op printing a few dozen and leave them in the KL lounge, but we do need info at the back.

damn. And how long ago has it been since we had a thread with 30,000+ views? (hmmm, probably the thread about the demise of KL equipment and KL delays...) We have become the Aeroflot of the new millenium...

I have a question about flying blue:

How many miles do you need from 1 april for a business class/europe select ticket from Amsterdam to Madrid? And how many miles do you need from 1 april for a world business class ticket from Amsterdam to Washington D.C. ???

Please help me!!!!!!!

The price for business class will be twice the amount you need for coach. So, a AMS-MAD will be 25,000 in coach and 50,000 in business class. A 20% increase of the current amount. AMS-WAS will be 50,000 in coach and 100,000 in business (what was, a few month ago, the price for an F ticket).
