That miles reduction stinks. I hope OK keep the current earning structure at least for their own flights...some detours and inconvenient connections will be a price I'll gladly pay to save my miles.

If however the A bucket totally disappears, it means that there is no chance to fly F reasonable ( = without paying for F).
I am afraid there is no 'if'... The A bucket does disappear on Oct 25th, 2009.
As of Oct 25th 2009, there will only be 2 buckets to fly La Première: P and F.

This year I am supposed to reach Plat Lifetime, I asking myself now why I was pushing so hard to get this status with doing milage runs etc. ...! That's really bullsh... what they are doing is for sure not customer orientated and never an "improvement"!
Since the change from Frequence Plus to Flying Blue they shocked us every year with their "changes & improvements".

Well, I'll spend all my miles before 1st April and will not fly AF/KL again. Simple.
I was just waiting for the fuel surcharges to drop, but I no longer think this will happen.

The beta version of the new FB site, which outlines all this info (and has video interviews with Herbert and some French woman). It should be live before long, i.e., today some time.

By offering miles valid for life, Flying Blue is one of the best frequent flyer programme. Miles for life is an advantage offered by very few airlines.
On most major carriers, Miles are not valid for life. Each Mile has an expiry date that can not be extended. A Mile earned today can be used for 2 or 3 years.
Which "most" airlines would that be then? BA, BD, LH, UA, AA?????

On other carriers, you have to fly even more frequently for your Miles to remain valid.

(Note my careful emphasise of the flight requirement...)
Does anyone else get the sense that AF have benchmarked their FF benefits against Ryanair and Easyjet.....
I didn't see any info about changes on miles required for upgrades. Did I miss something or can we hope that this will at least remains at the current levels
