A very special announcement, for a very special forum!
Thanks to tireless lobbying and harranguing by your loyal and dedicated moderators, the Flying Blue forum (along with AF and KL subforums) has been selected to participate in a very special trial of an exciting new technology!
OK, it's not really all that new, or particularly exciting. It's already in use elsewhere on FT. And we didn't lobby so much as I signed us up after JOUY31 agreed to let me. But anyway...
We can now display images inside our posts. Please make use of this ability to liven up your threads about food, seats, priority lines, lounges, or anything else that's topical for our fora. This is a trial to see how FTers can cope with this feature, and is also being conducted in Starwood, Luxury Hotels, and Community. It's unknown at this point how long the trial will last, though it likely depends on how much noise comes from the "sky is falling, my connection is too slow, you're ruining FT with all of this visual clutter" crowd. Should the trial end unsuccessfully, any images you posted before will show up as links. Note: images don't load until the rest of the page has finished. They don't slow down your access to the text part of FT at all. If you want to prevent them from loading, simply press your escape key.
A few things that come to mind from recent posts that would be enhanced by included images:
- Rugby scrum in place of priority boarding at AMS
- The bus you took at CDG
- The other bus you took at CDG
- Mashed peas!
- The NEV3 seat
- The new KL seats, Y and C
- The F lounge at CDG
- The new Crown lounge at AMS
- Etc.
Some of you may recall that we had this capability a couple of years ago by accident, so we're not anticipating any big changes. The same rules from the TOS apply in re: topicality, commercial use, personal attacks and all the rest. Please be polite when adding your images, and don't post enormous ones. If it's more than about 800 pixels wide, it's too big. The image must already be hosted somewhere else on the web, so there's no real procedural difference between this and posting a link except for now it shows up inline. There's a handy new "insert image" button available in your toolbar to make it easy.
Let's have fun with our new tool, and see how it can enhance our sharing of info here! To get us started:
I think the NEV3 seat looks a lot more comfortable than the old WedgieBeds. Don't you?
They're showing as links to me, do I have to change preferences (or may have done so when I signed up - perhaps I did as other forums have a habit of abusing the ability to post images) or have they been disabled already?

1) Right hand side of the blue line above the thread display pane.
2) Select "Quick Links"
3) Edit Options, and check the appropriate box.

I'm glad this seems to be working! I actually meant to use photos in your regular posts. You don't have to put them all here. That being said, this thread is probably a good place to get some practice and post the things that make us laugh. So let's keep off-topic stuff here. Now, go into the forum and share info more effectively!
