I was recently waiting for a taxi outside Terminal 2 at AUH when who should drive up but Thora Hird and a bevy of beauties from the cast of the Last of the Summer Wine! Thora was livid that the Etihad limo transfer hadn't shown up at her hotel and that she'd had to hire a car, but thankfully they arrived in time to catch EY316 to Riyadh.

Spotted in the Schengen Crown Lounge in AMS yesterday evening. The inspiration behind the Happy Monday's classic 'Loose Fit'. Terry "Really Wild" Nutkins.
Every so often a top celebrity sighting can make all the stress of international travel seem worthwhile. I had the pleasure of spotting Nobby Stiles, member of England's 1966 World Cup-winning squad, in the Serendib Lounge at CMB.
Nobby was traveling on last year's CMB-JFK "mistake" fare. He was having a little chuckle to himself that he'd booked an itinerary that allowed him to cross the Pacific twice and the Atlantic three times. We all remember him as a canny midfield maestro but who'd have thought he'd be so adept at taking advantage of ex-CMB J fares?!
Whilst we're on the subject of northern comedian double acts from the 1970's, I was once sat next to Hale and Pace on the Humberside to Amsterdam shuttle. Didn't utter a word to each other.
Programs: SkyPerks ElitePlus / WorldMiles EliteMinus, Some hotel programmes, The odd loyalty credit card

So that's who those guys are... often see them in the tiny Servisair lounge at HUY. You know they've been there 'cause they clean the place out of Stella. I always thought they were just The Management.
Another of those celebrity sightings that makes the stress of international travel all worthwhile. Coronation Street's Reg Holdsworth, spotted just outside the SA J Lounge at CPT, just last week.
