Was just browsing through the new February FB-promo's on klm.com and found this little paragraph at the end of the article, the preposterous fact of the matter is that while they're raising the price, the product is diminishing in overal quality;
Revised Business Class redemption rate from Europe to North America
From 1 March 2007, the Business Class redemption rate from Europe to North America* will increase from 80,000 Award Miles to 90,000 Award Miles. The First Class redemption rate remains unchanged at 100,000 Award Miles.

Was looking into AMS-CUN tonight. While the KLM Miles-lookup quoted 50.000 in Y to me, the FB online bookingsystem quoted me 75.000 (single AMS-IAH was 50.000 and single IAH-CUN 25.000)...

I was looking for LHR-SIN in F at Easter - well the web site books me LHR-AMS-SIN for 200,000 miles but when the reservation has confirmed it booked CDG-SIN in Coach.
So I call AF and there IS F availability on both flights (what?), and they rebook me.
When they issue the ticket today it's only 160,000 miles.

I still hope this +12.5% increase is clearly a mistake. There is no announcement yet on AF's website but I'm afraid they will follow suit shortly.
I'm pretty sure FB is this preparing a future increase of First class awards too. Having P awards that cost only 11% more than J, how long is that sustainable?

Its sneakily put right at the bottom of the Feb news letter in small print. it does seem daft F only being 10000 miles more...but then again have yo tried getting an F ticket...

It's been on the KL web site at least since the OP posted the information but it is not available on any of the AF country web sites. Agents at the FFP call centre in France haven't received any update yet.
