Good morning everyone.
I've been asked to assist with spreading the word of the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund Auction to be held this Saturday, May 1st. Captain Dahl was the pilot of United 93 on Sept 11, 2001. In his memory, a scholarship fund was setup for students pursuing a career in aviation.
The auction contains a variety of items mostly local to Colorado (Broncos and Rockies tickets). However, one item which may be of particular interest to the Flyertalk community is a one hour flight experience in a United Airlines State of the Art Simulator. The winner and up to three guests will have the opportunity to fly the simulator and tour the UAL Flight Training Center. The opportunity will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time with the Training Center. The package is valid from May 2010 till May 2011 and is valued at over $1,500.

The auction will run from Friday April 30th at 10AM to Saturday May 1st and 4PM. Winners will be announced no later than 4:30PM

Broncos Home game 2 Pack: December 26th against the Houston Texans at 2:05PM. United Club level seats on the east (sunny) side of the stadium. Row 10 on the 20th yard line (section 334, seats 11 and 12). These club level seats give access food, bar and wide screen TV's. The ticket holder also receives VIP entrance into the stadium. Package Value: $460.00
Non-auction items: There will also be a 100 dove race held at 2PM mountain time. You can sponsor a dove, and if your dove wins the race back to their home loft (some 20 miles away), you win a Vortex binocular valued at over $200. There are three sponsorship levels:
$20 - Flight 93 bracelet along with coupons for free products from The Squeeze Juice Bar, Abos Pizza, Noodles Restaurant, Qdoba Mexican Grill, the In Tea Parlor, Chick-Fill-A, Sports Clips, Big Papa’s Barbeque, and the Red Robin restaurant. The gift bag is worth well over the $20 dollar tax-deductible donation.
$50 - Flight 93 ball cap and History of United book in addition to the items listed above.
$100 - Flight 93 Heroes Flag in addition to all items at the $20 and $50 levels. There are only 10 of these sponsorships available.
