Miami airport connection question

Flying from Miami FL (MIA airport) to Lima, Peru via LAN Airline in September, flight time at 23:55. Starting my day in Detroit. Looking at a Delta flight from Detroit to MIA that arrives at MIA at 20:00. That gives me almost 4 hours to get from my landing gate to my international departure gate, which seems like plenty, even with a fight delay, should it occur.

Am I right? After I get off the Delta plane, will I need to to go through TSA again? Or can I just walk to the LAN counter and go to my flight?

CHL5, welcome to FlyerTalk!
As this is specific to Miami International, I'll move the thread to the Destinations=>Florida forum. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.

Not all the piers at MIA are connected "airside", so it's going to depend on this.

Delta arrives in H, LAN departs from J

This thread suggests you can do an airside connection, but obviously that's contingent on DL checking your bag through.
maps on the MIA website also suggest you'll be OK.

I have the same question:

Flying from Los Angeles, CA (LAX) to Salvador, Brazil via American Airlines with change planes in MIA (Miami, FL).

Will I need to to go through TSA again to take international departure gate?

If both flights are on AA, no, both terminals E & D are connected without the need to exit the sterile area.

For 10 hours, a day room at the MIA Airport Hotel (landside, above the North Terminal ticketing desks) might make more sense. Day rates are not listed on their website, but my understanding is that day rates may be available by calling directly:

Do you think 2 hours is enough to change the plane?

If both AA flights, well more than enough.
