Very best resort hotels within an hour or two of MIA ?
I will be flying through MIA in early December, and would like to stay somewhere in the general neighbourhood (within an hour or two's drive would be fine) for a week or so.
I am looking for real luxury and the most comfortable stay possible.
I am keen on the Four Seasons or Mandarin Orinetal style, or maybe a recently refurb'd Riz Carlton. Equally, I am happy to consider any others on a similar level.
Just to make it clear in case anyone suggests it, that I am NOT looking for anywhere offshore (NAS, GCM or similar).
Any suggestions gratefully received !

We stayed on Marco Is in Aug and had a great time. A number of choices, not what you are asking for, but for a laid back place I can recommend.

Unquestionably the St Regis Bal Harbor is the best, a short 30 minutes away.
