I fully agree that the Long Haul Lounge is sub-par compared to other airline's offerings. I've never personally had a problem finding a seat on the Emerald/long haul J side, though I do find the alcohol selection (especially wine) disappointing. The free wifi access is a plus though.
The rest of the product is pretty decent, so I will be very interested to see what the new lounge looks like. My first experience is likely to be on 19 December en route to LHR from Asia.
