Which lounge to use in PEK?

Last time at PEK I travelled with *A... but now I'll take the AY flight to HEL.

Which lounge would you recommend to use at PEK? As AY Plat I'll fly in J. Any chance to use the CX lounge there?

All lounges are quite poor in Beijing.

You can use the CX lounge.

I prefer to use it over the Air China lounge (which would be the normal J lounge for Finnair).
There are far less people in CX, but the quality is the same as the Air China lounge.

Thanks, good to know! I thought OWEs could use the First Class section of the Air China lounge?! (Both listed at the AY website).

CX is better than the so-called First Class section of Air China lounge. Not much, but still.

Good to know! I personally find it annoying that AY does not even mention the OW lounges at different airports on its website. How is the BGS lounge, also mentioned by AY?

Strange that there seems to be no fast track at PEK!

All lounges in PEK are sub-standard, including Air China's.

The main item to go for at the Mainland CX/KA lounges is the lunchtime hot noodles from the cart. A little bit of Chinese civilization in the otherwise sterile surroundings.

Is invitation needed for these lounges? I guess I'll have access to the CX lounge as an AY Plat without a separate invitation when flying AY.

I planned of visiting all lounges we have access to and then post some pictures here. Unfortenately I overslept and had only 30 min anymore after security, so I only went quickly to the Cathay Pacific lounge.

Next time Beijing is probably somewhere the June-August period. I'll try to post pictures of the other lounges then.

This almost looks like a carbon copy of the CX lounge at PVG!

as promised:

Air China lounge first class lounge:
- poor food, some boooze (for me not relevant for a 11 AM flight) . almost nobody, very big. similar space compared to Cathay Pacific lounge

BGS lounge - first class section
- similar food as Air China, did not notice booze. Very small place and quite crowded.

My judgement call: Use Air China first class lounge. If you are emerald, choose either Cathay Pacific or Air China first class.

I hated the CX lounge. Too bad I'm not flying oneworld (or CA) when I'm there next time
