Thanks for feeding me ideas!
Outside schengen can be OK, depends on destination.
(OK as long as airside transit is allowed for schengen permanent residents with non schengen passport. UK usually poses a problem in that regard.)
I have found W6 BUD-MMX at 197€ and I want to beat that, but so far it seems unlikely Just hate paying legacy prices to a LCC.

The Intercontinental or the Four Seasons are solid tips for a Sat night in BUD

Cities like PRG and BUD are great cities "ex" to Asian destinations but getting to these cities with reasonable price, is hard work.
Both cities are with AY in June starting from 230€ (Basic, return).
And DY is not a solution due to difficult schedules.

CSA (Czech Airlines) is apparently starting Helsinki - Prague flights in February 2016 (at least they are selling them). In february 2 flights / week and ~12 flights/week during the summer 2016. The codeshare agreement between AY and CSA seems to terminate at the end of October.
I don't understand how they expect to make money... If there was enough demand, Norwegian would probably fly more frequently to Prague...

W.r.t. OK, it seems like they are restarting the route with a similar (if not identical) schedule.
That might work for positioning to HKG/SIN, or to HEL stop-over. It does not seem like it would work for the big Asian wave though.

I reckon Mr LGG does too. He just prefers to buy at Y-pricing
But seriously, I think AY has applied married segments (or similar) on several EU-Asia connections, at least in J. Several times there are availability in I (business saver) on each segment but EU-HEL-Asia only offers C and D.
I asked a live TA, she described it as "Amadeus says that I-fare class is closed for sale".
