Apparently already fully booked.
Only ridiculously expensive Y fares available and AY is not willing to take the risk to overbook J/C/D fares where slightly overselling Y is still possible with op-ups.
I would not expect F bucket (and your upgrade with it) to open in the very near future, if ever. Unless substantial changes in Y bookings or an airplane change but it is already A321.

So maybe they are holding seats for Plat/Gold members with revenue J, C or D tickets...
Plat/Gold benefit:
CONFIRMED SEAT
Finnair guarantees confirmed seats in European scheduled Business Class booking classes J, C and D

This is possible with reservations made through OTA and would make it look like the seats are unoccupied if using eq. EF to check seat availability.
Very unlikely that all J seats are booked and shown as free but possible though.

Hmm, I'm looking at two tix waitlisted for upgrade, phone calls do not seem to help.
- HEL-LHR on the A350 service in Dec (the other 4 flights have plenty)
- HKG-HEL in Jan
I know these are still way out but I'm particularly worried about the Honkers flight... especially as two outbounds in Dec got upgraded online.
BTW - has anyone EVER seen upgrade availalability on the SIN service? We're flying to SIN via HKG just because there were no u/g availability at all to SIN (even calling in) and this time it was strictly Y tickets only. On the bright side we get a two days layover in HKG and can try the SQ prem. eco service

I have never seen available upgrades from/to SIN. I have, however, had all my waitlisted upgrades come through (usually after check-in closure though).
Only 3 so far so not really statistically significant (I have one upgrade pending for next week, I'll see how I'll do).

Just to add another data point, this year during Easter I flew to SIN. Bought the ticket in mid January and could upgrade the HEL-SIN segment online, as there were availability. ~2 days prior me purchasing the ticket, there were 4(!) avaialable upgrade slots for the SIN-HEL segment, too, but by the time I bought it they were all gone, so had myself waitlisted. At the end, the upgrade cleared 3 or 4 days prior returning to HEL.

GVA-HEL//HEL-GVA is also notorious difficult getting upgrades to.
I have never been able to use my vouchers on any of the segments between the two dep/arr destinations as they simply do not exists by the look of it... I always end up flying from ZRH to HEL (and return). This said, wasted on E-190's anyway (GVA/HEL) so not the end of the world!

I wonder if that is a mistake of the online tool. E.g. on HEL - MUC on this Friday there is no availability but both flights show up in the list. For HEL - GVA there is no list. You just get that there are no upgrades available.

I didn't even know. I've been there several times as a good friend lives there, and I often upgrade at least one way. Or both, if there is no space for an award in Y. Never any problems but then I don't fly business rush hours.

This doesn't correspond my experiences... Used to be based in GVA, so flew this route about a dozen times during the last couple of years. Only on a couple of occasions I wasn't able to upgrade when I wanted to.
