Earlier this month, BA announced big investments and changes to J travel. These are for example:

- new lounges with direct access to security for F pax and OWE at LHR
- new catering in LHR J lounges
- bigger pillows, soft mattress toppers and duvet
- restaurant-style premium dining service in CW
- direct aisle seats
- CE on domestic flights

Sounds pretty good IMO and we have already seen changes in service style in the CE, including new, stylish crockery and improved menus that are far ahead Finnair at least in presentation.

Finnair is aiming to offer the best J experience. This was announced already year or two ago but I haven’t seen much of an improvement nor any action list on how they are planning to achieve their goal. Has anyone? Could someone enlighten that?

Finnair seems just talking, dreaming and promising but nothing really happens. Or if something happens, things goes just worse as we have recently seen in short-haul business class.

I would like to see mattress toppers in AY J as well, plus freshly made smoothies for breakfast, real coffee (instead of that horrible instant coffee) and big improvement in presentation of dishes. Crew should assemble dishes onboard to prevent those watery sauces and signs of burnt food on plates that are common sight now.

Finnair recently pushed for their "new selection of movies in april" on their facebook page, and the selection can be seen here, topping the list is the 2009 movie '500 days of summer'.

I guess Finnair not only targets non-frequent flyers but also non-frequent movie watchers.

They hired locally known chefs to act as poster boys, and ... ... no, can't think of anything else that has been done.

All these are good suggestions. Matresses should be a given even with the nicle&dimeing crowd, as they reduce the wear and tear on the seats.

As for coffee they actually made an effort to remove all fancy coffee machines, so we are unlikely to see any improvement on that front - sadly.

That action list would be interesting to see if it even exist. Or does Finnair really think that just by introducing A350 with some flash lights they have achieved the goal being the best...

Price for that 2006 appears to be around €95-100.

From Business Class to Comfort Class?

Being in the booking process for rest of the year's journeys, I observed an interesting change in flights to London after this October. What do you think of this? Would Comfort Class tickets be more easily accepted in the corporate travel policies compared to Business Class tickets? What enhancements are about to happen?

I see...

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finna...-cabin-sh.html

But this thread does not enlighten me at all? Somewhere else? Not a temporary change as Comfort is being offered also for my December London flights and January 2018 Havana flights.

Weird. But I shall sit gladly on Comfort seat for the price difference of €1140,48 - €257,40 = €886,08...

Finnair no longer requires Finnish language from their cabin crew: http://www.hs.fi/talous/art-2000005288083.html

This may be a clever move but of course, the labour unions are not happy.

Member cards have had a small update. The "Finnair" text logo has been replaced by the "Finnair plus" text logo. To balance the design the tier text ("platinum") has been moved to the upper right, making it stand out a lot more than previously.

Also, the card finish has changed. The platinum is now a matte black card.

The design has been like this since at least last February when I got my plat. But yeah, I prefer the new design with the matte finish, too.
