To wrap things up:
OH-LQF had failure both on july 16, as AY69 on HEL-HKG and july 19 as charter on HEL-CHQ.
Then they scheduled LQF to do AY69 HEL-HKG in the evening july 19 but failed getting it flyable and delayed take off by some 9 hours.

AY69/70 is A340 and AY61/62 A333.

Yep....flew with LQF today on AY69....an unbearable experience.

I have flown with Finnair for 5 times, all to HKG, 2 out of the 5 flights I flew with LQF, another twice with LQD, and once with LQB...please god don't give me those ex-AFs on my return flight.

Massive delays again on HKG route.

Today coming 3rd day for AY69 moved to next morning and now two times caused by exAF-crap-LQG.

2 times in a row? I am right assuming this happened? LQG went tech saturday, they scheduled another 340 as replacement and LQG was supposed to return to service today but failed?

What happened with AY69 friday?

AY already has a shameful record for AY69 delays, it is not getting better ...

LQF not involved this time. Only LQG causing problems.

OK, I meant LQG in all cases.

Friday - What machine had failure that day? Was it OH-LQD (the one that finally flew it) or another?

LQG.

LQD was ok and came Saturday morning from Singapore and then immediately to HKG.
Saturday's AY69 departed today around 09:00 and it was LQB arrived earlier from SIN also.

And now todays 69 is estimated 08:00 AM.

AY should go again to France to get more this kind of used Airbus s*it.

Shh, don't tell AY, but Airbus has 5 343 available right now. Sadly, only three of them are from 1997, so it will be difficult to "re-oldening" the fleet...

On a more serous note, they have driven the airplane utilisation program too far. I know they must do it to save money, but they must have under-estimated the fleets need of service.

Best possible way to get lighter loads for the future...many Asian/European transit pax who are stranded at either end will for sure look elsewhere for their next journeys..especially business pax..

Every airline suffers delays sometimes but AY has just pushed the small fleet too far, just like intuition commented above.

Where are they in take off preparation at T-2,5 hours? I've noticed the delay is announced at 21.25 several times. There must be a take off check list that fails?
