The stay does not have to be completed by the expiry date, but the certificates must be in your account and valid at the time of check-in. If you wanted to apply it to a stay that started after the expiry date, you would need to get the FPC to first extend the expiry on the certificate (which has been done, but is never guaranteed).

I've only ever heard of it being done for a Platinum.

They did it for my wife when she said it was for our honeymoon (which was true).

Applied for one for myself and for my wife late Friday. Got 7-10'd on both of them. Called the automated line today and mine was approved. Wife's still saying the same 7-10 message. Should I just wait it out? She was denied on an in-bank app of an Ink+ just a few days before.

Edit: Called the automated app check line and mine was approved the next day. My wife's was sent to verification so after we called, she was approved as well.

This card is no longer on the chase website

When I in the page with all the chase credit card, this card is no longer there. Not sure how long it will be last as I am planning to apply it.

For anyone with this card, it is worth keeping it after the first year? I know the answer may mainly depends on your travel pattern.

IMO keeping the card is a no-brainer if you stay at a Fairmont at least once a year (since the value of the Premier status benefits far exceed $95).

Sometimes just staying once every three years. The rate that was obtained from a Fairmount property was over $300 for a wedding next month. I was still able to get the 3rd night free and also use my upgrade certificate. Can't beat that.

Or not even staying at all. You get $100 worth of dining credit for the $95 fee.

Really? I thought it was just $50 a year for Premier members.

The card is still advertised on Fairmonts home page.

$50 from Premier status plus $50 from being a cardholder.

Though that only applies if one qualifies the "regular way" (i.e. via stays or nights) afaik.

I thought that was just the Gold Upgrade. Though we've never been in the situation of not qualifying through stays, so I don't have direct experience.
