Also, I will have to spend almost 9 hours in the OZ lounge in ICN; considering I have been to Seoul before and also considering the winter weather, I am not particularly keen to exit the airport to go sightseeing. Any tips about spending time in the lounge / airport? On a previous visit to the OZ-F lounge in ICN, I was not very impressed with what was on offer

I'm back with more pics, HGH - ICN - LAX in C.

I departed on OZ 360 from gate 12, which as chance would have it was literally right next to the lounge! Talk about hanging out at the lounge until boarding began!

The HGH lounge was not big, but it did provide for a nice place to hang out before the flight departed. Basic food items, cold sandwiches Tsing Tao beer, some fresh fruits and veggies, instant noodles, cappuccino machine and assorted "cold drinks". I put cold drinks in quotes because the fridge was not very cold at all.

Boarding gate. Travel class on the left and Business on the right.

Menu for the HGH - ICN segment. The cabin was empty on this 767 and I was greeted by the purser thanking me for choosing OZ. Only three pax on board! An awesome 1:1 FA - PAX ratio bested only by my ICN - PVG ratio of 3:2 :) The AVOD worked ok. Nothing worth watching. Only Korean movies and "News on demand". The C seat in the 767 was not lay flat and the pitch was not 50". Seatguru was not right on the 767. Kinda weird that they would install motorized barcaloungers. There was not a lie-flat button like the 777 and I could not get the seat back to go all the way down to the same position that I had on the 777. If I am wrong somebody correct me.

Dinner for HGH - ICN. Pretty tasty. Wasn't expecting a meal on such a short flight.

Sorry for the half-eaten bits, not really used to taking pictures of food on planes :)

Breakfast. Crab porridge, which was rather bland.

All in all OZ offered great service with attractive FA's if that matters to anyone. 4 hot towels services on the ICN - LAX flight. Glass was empty a few times as I was watching movies at my seat but to be fair I think there was only 2 of us watching movies while everyone else was asleep. Would not hesitate to fly them again in C.

I've booked a *A redemption in C with OZ between LHR & ICN and, having never flown with Asiana before, was hoping for some advice from a frequent traveller.
I'm connecting through from DUB, and will have a few hours to kill at LHR T1. It's been a while since I was last through LHR, so have never used the *A Lounge there. Is there any hot food provided, or is it better to eat on board?Alternatively, is there another lounge that OZ C pax have access to (bmi No.1 for example?) or is it recommended to stick with *A lounge?
Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

Am contemplating flying OZ HKG-ICN-JFK // SFO-ICN-HKG instead of going direct on CX. Price on CX direct is more than double OZ!

I've flown a similar routing on them previously so know what to expect in terms of food/seats etc. However, I've got a couple of questions for those in the know;

1) Does OZ have bassinet rows on the 744/74E/777 a/c? Typically they are located on the bulkheads with extra legroom (to compensate for the bassinet). However Seatguru is showing bulkheads as having limited legroom?? Also are they only in the center block of seats or also available on the window sides?

2) How are the baby facilities in Incheon? Any comparison to Changi?

3) If anyone has done longhaul with a baby on OZ - would love to hear about your experience and perhaps a little reassurance?

Thank You.

Here is the LAX shower room in the Star Alliance lounge. I didn't need a shower but I took another shower anyways just so I can share with other curious FTer's :) There was no wait time as I was showering around 10:45 pm. Just had to hunt down a staff person to let me in to a shower room.
OZ lounge. Not a bad place to hang out for 4 hours. There are semi-private relaxation rooms with mechanical massage chairs. Very comfortable and fairly quite.

My wife and I used 240,000 Aeroplan (Star Alliance) miles to fly F to Asia later this month. We are booked and confirmed First Class Asiana: JFK-ICN, arriving 05:10. We depart Asiana ICN-SGN at 19:10, some 14 hours later. I have read on this Board that Asiana provides Hotel or Tour if the layover exceeds 8 Hours. As no mention of this offer can be found on the Asiana Website, I emailed Asiana Customer Service, to make inquiry. They replied that while they acknowledge that our layover exceeds 8 hours, they will not provide Hotel or Tour for passengers who made their reservations using Star AllianceTravel Miles. The Hotel/Tour is only available to paying passengers!
BTW, economy ticket ,same route: USD $872! First Class, my a.. !

Would anyone have any suggestions? I haven't yet replied to their email.
Many thanks

I called in Asiana to book my multi-city flight this X'mas.
Basically, it is
LAX-(transfer at ICN) - NRT
NRT- (transfer at ICN) - HKG
HKG - (transfer at ICN) - LAX

So I was able to confirm from the phone I have should have enough points for confirmed upgrade from Economy to Business of the whole segment and was able to use my Diamond 50% upgrade cert discount. I was told that 45000 points would be used (after discount) but I am not sure how they come out with that number. It means I would need 90000 points without the cert. Anyone have any insights?

I am using the Asiana US website, but couldn't really get the same number.
LAX-NRT (Japan/North America) 30000 - 1 way
NRT - HKG (Japaan/South East Asia) 17500 - 1 way
HKG - LAX (South East Asia / North America) 37500 - 1 way
Total milage needed: 85000
Total milage needed with the 50% off cert: 42500

Now the 2nd question is this. I got email confirmation of my non-ticketed reservation that all seats in business class is confirmed. I called in Asiana to pay for my ticket. So it is now paid for. For the upgrade discount certificate, do I need to mail it in? Or do I just have to surrender the coupon at the check-in counter? My confirmed upgrade seats won't be given to another flyer if fail to show up very early right? Sorry for silly questions, this is really my first time using a paper cert with Asiana.

Will OZ be able to check me in for both flights when I check in at PVG? I assume even if they can not, they will be able to check my baggage all the way through. Is this correct?

My connection time at ICN is 2 hours. I assume that TG and OZ are in the same part of the airport since they are both Star Alliance?

I assume I will just use the OZ lounge (flying in C class) unless someone suggests otherwise.

Any ideas?
