T3. We are therefore landside. I know there is the Mcdonads and that Shawarma place airside but is there any where nearby we can go for a good sit down lunch thats kosher (rabbanut is ok)? Maybe Yehud or Or Yehuda, without risking the Tel Aviv traffic?

Thanks

I was flying 4 times this last 2 weeks in F to LAX, EWR and JFK.
2 of the flights where very good .
The one to Lax was exrtraordinery and the persur and F/A reminded me the
Singapore airlines in F. They where always trying to give more then what I asked. Always looking at the cabin to make sure we are all OK.
There was a problem with the Video for one of the PAX and the F/A
took her personal laptop and gave it to him to watch movies she had there
until the problem was solved.

The flight from TLV to JFK was very bad. The F/A worked liked it was
a biz class or ecconmy plus...
You had to ask for evrything : Water , sleepr kit , papers etc.
We didn't saw the persur even once in the cabin and the service was very slow. The F/A vanished after they served the meal and I had to look for them
in the upper deck all the time. ( I go to sleep at 5am)
The cabin was full with very rich people and only 2 upgrades (me and the
the guy next to me) We both agreed that this was the worst F/A ever we saw in F.
Maybe the real F guys didn't arrive so the purser moved 2 C or Y guys to work
in F at that flight.

I was sitting in the F section in the Meriot on the way back from EWR.
There was one guy with us that waited until the last call and the last shuttele.
He walked with us through the security line where everyone moved to the side. He walked with us through the long line in the sleeve, where everyone
moved to the side, But on the plain he was sitting in Y.
This was a great trick and even I was amazed by his Hutzpa,,,
Both land at Terminal 4 in MAD. I want to take a connecting Iberia flight at 11:50 to Malaga (terminal 4 as well).

Has anyone done this? Can we make it through in time? Will the suitcases be checked all the way through to Malaga?

My last flight with EL AL was on 15th October. I am flying again tomorrow. Last night I realised that I needed to charge my iPod for the journey (I only ever use it when travelling (unlike our children, who seem to be inseparable from these things ...).

Well, I couldn't find it anywhere. PANIC set in!

This morning I phoned the EL AL lost and found with the description of the lost object (it was not only an iPod, but a pair of pretty expensive Bose QC-2 headphones as well, in their case). After a couple of minutes they told me they thought they had located them and would phone later to confirm. About an hour and a half later they phoned with the good news and I went to collect them.

I have to say that such an expensive item is very tempting for any crew member or cleaner, and I was most impressed that it was handed in rather than 'finding itself a new home'.

I do intend to write to EL AL to let them know how impressed I was with the honesty of their employees.

I am travelling shortly with my wife who is a GL. I am a PL myself. We needed to make a slight change to my wife's booking class (from D to I) and found that her seat in row 11, reserved a very long time ago, had been taken in the few seconds it took to make the change. We were moved to row 13, the last row of the 763 business class, just in front of the economy class bassinet row, having been originally in 11ac.

The agent was told that 11hk were free, but blocked until 3 days before the flight and she could not get them. I have tried the PL phone line as well, but to no avail.

I have now discovered that ON ALL FLIGHTS 11hk are held for 'dead head' captains as part of the labour agreement between the company and the pilots. Not just any 2 business class seats, but the best seats. It has been known, I am told, for flights to be delayed if such VIPs have not been allocated these seats!

One wonders when EL AL will join the real world and place premium revenue passengers first?

From EL AL's website (hebrew and english have the same information):

http://www.elal.co.il/ELAL/English/A...lAlloeance.htm

First Class: Up to 4 pieces, weighing up to 32 kg/piece
Business Class: Up to 3 pieces, weighing up to 32 kg/piece
Economy Class: Up to 2 pieces, weighing up to 23 kg/piece

From the EL AL E-Ticket:
ON TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHTS, IF YOU ARE FLYING FIRST OR BUSINESS CLASS, YOU ARE LIMITED TO TWO MEDIUM SIZED SUITCASES, UP TO 32 KG FOR EACH PIECE. ... IF YOU ARE FLYING ECONOMY CLASS, YOU ARE LIMITED TO TWO MEDIUM SIZED SUITCASES UP TO 23 KG FOR EACH PIECE

Now, this discrepancy is not new: I have old e-tickets with this information on them dating from 2006!

So what version is correct? The e-ticket version seems a really bad deal, making the only difference between economy and business or first the difference between 23 and 32kg, and NO advantage at all for First Class.

I really don't like websites that make me change passwords on a regular basis. It seems to me that it is my responsibility to change them when I determine it important to change rather than when they deem it important.

Today I logged into my Matmid account to find that I need to change the password again. Fine. But now they've made it more complex and less convenient for me. The password now needs to have two parts. The first part needs to be a combination of letters and numbers with at least two letters. The second part must be four numbers which you can also then use as your password for Matmid services by phone. I was quite happy with the two passwords being totally seperate. I was quite happy with my online passwords being a mixture of 8 letters and numbers of my own choosing. Why don't they, and all the other companies with online services, focus on great functionality instead of getting so worked up about how I choose my personal password? :td:

I've been reading the forum for quite a while and finally decided to join.
I don't fly as much of all of you, about once a month and usually to Europe (in economy). I try and fly elal but since many times I return on Shabbat I take other carriers.
Out of my 4 flights with LH I got two OPUps which made me very happy with them.
In two weeks I am flying with Elal TLV-CDG. My return is in V class.
What are my chances for an OPUp?
