I have seen all the Chicken Little's of these boards swear the Citibank card churn has come to an end over the past couple years. Needless to say they have all proven wrong, at least from my perspective. I have been enjoying the benefits o the Citibank cards for many years now and adapted when needed to accommodate new restrictions and limitation to the process.

The reason I say this is coming to an end is that I cannot find any Citibank applications that waive the first year membership fees ($85) that expire AFTER 11/30/09.

If anyone has a link to an offer that waives the fee AND expires after 11/30/09 please let me know the sky is not falling and I can add them to the master thread.

In hindsight I think shot myself in the foot.

On Nov 1 I applied for the 45K PC Visa and got the message that I would receive the decision via mail in 14 days.I assumed it would be a rejection,as the status never changed and went beyond the 14 days.

Today I called and got the "congratulations you have been approved" recording, surprisingly so.

Next I check my accounts online and discover all my other Chase account credit lines have been lowered-I started with 83K and am now at 37K including this card(22K).This is not good,as I was planning to close this card before the annual fee comes due. After closing this new card in 6 months or so,I will only have 15K available at Chase.

My guess is that the new application went to review and they saw all the high credit lines and tried to reduce their exposure.

I can only blame myself for this, had I known this would happen,I would have left well enough alone and not triggered a review.

Hi guys,

I've applied for a Citi-AA Master card, with a deny reply saying that I already have the maximum number of (probably Citi-AA) cards that can be issued to an individual. So I requested to close one of my previous Citi-AA Master card and asked to re-evaluate my application. The rep said that they can close the account, but I will have to apply again.

That's fine. I closed the account. Filled out a new application form.

But this time denied again with email reading that I have submitted a multiple applications for credit. The second application was about 6 days later than the first one. Are these considered to be multiple?

So I've got denial twice in a row in a week. Maybe I will have to wait until 60 days have passed as it is their policy to limit the number of credit "request", not "approval" to only one in 60 days. (Once they stated this in an email)

Isn't this stupid that I have to wait for 60 days every time I'm denied for any reason? Did I get anything wrong? What would you do?

Thank you for applying for the Citi(R) Platinum Select(R) /
AAdvantage(R) Visa Signature(R) account. Unfortunately, we are
unable to approve your request for the account at this time
because of the following:

o The credit privileges on your existing account(s) are
currently restricted.

I tried reaching out to the Customer Service but they could not explain what it meant.

Is there a way to ask Citibank to reconsider? I have a pretty decent score and have not churned actively. Not sure what the message means either. Anyone?

I have citi premier pass elite card, which earns 1 Thankyou point for every mile flown. Also, I got award 2 award tickets one for myself and one for my wife as we both frequent flyers in Southwest. I booked both my award tickets to travel from LA, CA to Forl Lauderdale, FL. I paid $10.00 for each ticket as security fee, which was reflected on my credit card statement with my complete itinerary for both outbound and inbound travel dates. I made this transaction on 10/01/09 for the travel I made on 10/14 and inbound on 10/21.
But when I looked into my recent citi PPE detailed statement I didn't see those miles or Thankyou points. Are these award travels not taken into consideration for earning Thankyou points? Kindly explain.

For those of you that have not heard of this, there is a site called credit karma that gives your free credit score and a kind of report. Unlike freecreditreport.com and those other sites, you don't have to enter any creditcard info and you won't ever be charged. They make money off of ads. It also shows your score in relation to the U.S population which is kind of cool. My actual paid score is 758 and Credit Karma told me it was 760, so it is pretty accurate for being free.

more info:
http://ahlaytravel.blogspot.com/2009...it-report.html

Also i am aware that you can get your report from the gov for free, but that is only once a year and doesnt show your credit score.
