I haven't been on a JL flight in over 15 years, and I wasn't even a teenager at that point, so my memory is a bit foggy. I'm expecting better service then I will get on my AA flights to NRT, though nothing spectacular. Do they have IFE? Clean?

How is immigration in BKK? I land around 11 15 and wondered if I'd be able to get to my hotel before 1 AM. Any insight is helpful.

Thanks! :D

Looked through the many threads on lounge access and the official websites but was quite confused with lounge access in NRT, so would appreciate any help on this, many thanks!

The cost and flight times are pretty much equal so does anyone have any opinion as to which is best or if there is any benefit of going for one over the other - lounge access, etc. - before I book it?

Anyone know if/when JL flies this route?

I searched and there was an old thread from 2004, which concluded that JL doesn't fly to Mongolia. I am curious, though b/c of the wiki site and also AA awards claiming that Mongolia is a possible destination.

I can't think of any other AA partners that would serve Mongolia, though, so it must be JL?

particularly post # 24 by coachngs.
My partner is a plus size and it sounds like the new neo seats on 777 are not very wide and she would not be comfortable.
While flying from SFO to YVR with AA award means connecting in PDX or SEA, I am considering the switch as there is more availablity (dates I want) and it would be on the 747 - availablity on UD. Are these seats appreciably "better" (read: wider) to make the inconvenient connection worthwhile?
Have to make the decision in next 2-3 days.
Your JAL expertise is appreciated.
TIA

Checked in at NRT by a trainee which took a long time, but ...hey...she was really cute so it was worth the extra wait:D. She handed me the BP and said I could use the First Class Lounge (also printed on my BP). Sitting now at the lounge, to be honest the biz lounge looks nicer, but food and drink in First Lounge are much better.

Just for my understanding is this standard? As this is my first time actually flying JL out of NRT.
Cheers!

Hey everyone, first post here!

I'm going to be travelling this route (YVR-NRT-HKG) on JL017 and JL735.

Actually this is my second time travelling this but, was hoping for some more tips from the seasoned crew here.

I'm not familiar with this "lounge" thing, how do they distinguish from who gets access. I'm in Y-class so I'm going to assume its not for people like me.

If thats the case, I've read that you get different "tiers"? How do you check your level and how do you upgrade yourself?

I know that both of these flights are going to be Boeing 744's. I've been going by seatguru for better seats but its not identifying much except for the back few seats and exit rows(usually reserved for babies I've heard?).

I also have the option of going through HND/NRT with a 10hr layover on the flight back. Is this advised? Is transportation between the airports included? How about the checked-in luggage, does it go through automatically or do you have to pick it up and check it in again at NRT.

Sorry about the overwhelming abundance of questions. I guess its better than making multiple threads about almost the same thing though right.
