hey everyone like everyone know that southwest wount fly to ATL anytime soon... whats other best company to fly from BOI-ATL? Please not delta or nwa because they way to expensive and sme company that has very good with miles not go hard to earn them something like southwest... does anyone know any company that its awsome with miles and to fly....

by the way if southwest can't fly to atl international airport they should try to fly in """LZU - Gwinnett County Airport Lawrenceville, Georgia""" it will make that airport very busy :D

I am sitting at the San Diego Airport with a 3 hour or so delay.

I'm on the huge standby list for the next flight but has anyone ever pulled the $20 trick with a WN agent and if so, did it work?

edit: That should say gate agent... Too much payment processing on the brain.

4. BONUS CREDITS. Once registered, when you complete Partner purchases during the Promotion Period, you can receive up to 16 bonus credits in your Rapid Rewards account. A Partner purchase is one or more credits or a partial credit earned in a member's Rapid Rewards account on a single date from a qualifying Partner. Limit one Partner purchase per qualifying Partner per day, with the exception of Partner point transfers and Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Credit Card from Chase cardholder transactions, which are limited to one per day and three per Partner, respectively, during the Promotion Period. Flight credits are not considered eligible purchases. Bonus credits can take up to 6 to 8 weeks after promotion period ends to post to account. The transaction date is provided to Southwest by the Rapid Rewards Preferred Partner. All qualifying purchases must post to your Rapid Rewards account no later than February 28, 2010, to qualify for a bonus credit. You must enter your Rapid Rewards account number at the time of booking or check-in to receive bonus credit.

For existing Rapid Rewards Credit Card/Business Credit Cardmembers: Existing Rapid Rewards Credit Card from Chase cardholders ("Cardmember") as of November 16, 2009, can earn up to three (3) transactions during the Promotion Period. Cardmembers can earn one transaction per billing cycle when one or more Rapid Rewards credits based on normal earn (excluding bonus credits) are transferred from your credit card account to your Rapid Rewards account, up to a maximum of three transactions earned per each Rapid Rewards Credit Card from Chase. Only transfers that occur between November 19, 2009, and February 15, 2010, qualify toward the Promotion.

I consider myself to be at least somewhat intelligent - but this is making my head spin for some reason tonight.

Has someone got a good grasp on this????

I plan to open a Southwest Visa. In the past, I thought I have
seen an offer for 16 credits to open...and not necessary to
transfer any balance for the 16 credits.

I think I have seen this offer in the airport where reps are
sitting at tables trying to get you to sign up. Have you seen
any offers recently to get the 16 credits without transfer of
any balances....either on line or at

So I got all excited and clicked on my offer, which was for 2 RR credits if I had 15 partner "purchases" between today and Feb. 15; 4 credits if I have 18; 6 credits if I have 21; 8 credits if I have 24; 10 credits if I have 27; and 16 credits if I have 30.

While I appreciate the offer, that's a lot of partner "purchases." I suspect it's because I get a lot of credits that way, but it seems a little stingy to me. I'm curious if others got more generous offers.

Official Virgin America fare sale thread

Although I have yet to fly Virgin America (VX), I have benefited many times from Southwest's matching of VX sale fares. VX tends to offer its sale fares with 1-day to 3-day advance purchase. Southwest tends to match these fares on the same routes, with no public notice whatsoever. That's where this thread comes in.

From now on, when VX starts a good sale, I'd like someone to post its terms here. Then we can be on the alert for Southwest's match. We can also be aware of the precise conditions of the sale and when it will end.

During recent VX sales, Southwest exactly matched the VX fare from SFO to LAX and added $10 to the VX fare for OAK to LAX. I didn't check SFO to LAS, but the recent $50 OAK to LAS fare was likely a near-match to a $40 VX fare out of SFO.

Last night VX's $44 sale ended, and now they have a $39 fare bookable today only. The pertinent terms are:

1-day advance purchase. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Tickets must be purchased by 11:59pm PST 11.18.09. Travel must occur between 11.19.09 and 02.10.10. Blackout dates are 11.25.09, 11.28.09 to 11.30.09, 12.17.09, 12.18.09, 12.23.09, 12.24.09, 12.26.09, 12.30.09, and 01.03.10.

Fares do not include Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9 each way, September 11th Security Fees of up to $5 each way and a Federal Segment Tax of $3.60 per domestic segment.

Customer-unfriendly terms are:

Changes or cancellations can be made for a $50 fee if changes are made on Virgin America�s website (www.virginamerica.com) or a $75 fee through all other channels, including the call center and at the airport, plus any increase in fare, if applicable. Guests who no-show without a change or cancel prior to the scheduled departure time will forfeit the amount of this fare. In addition, any future flights booked in the same reservation will also be canceled and the fare will be forfeited. Tickets purchased from Virgin America through our reservation call center will cost an additional $15 per guest per itinerary. Any added cost associated with purchasing tickets from Virgin America through our reservation call center will be non-refundable.

Virgin America will accept one (1) piece of checked baggage up to 70 pounds for $20 for each ticketed guest. The fee per guest for each additional checked bag up to 50 pounds from the second (2) to the tenth (10) is $20.

This is why Virgin offers short-notice fares: Your $39 ticket is effectively completely non-refundable and non-changeable. Booking farther ahead you would be foolish not to choose Southwest. But that's a subject for another thread. This thread is about giving you a heads-up on VX sales, so you can look for Southwest to match.

On this particular sale, Southwest has not matched yet. I expect to see a match within a few hours. If you buy tickets in a market served by VX, I suggest that you Subscribe to This Thread (under Thread Tools near the upper right).

WN reserves seat for SF Mayor's wife (Middle of article)

I don't know how much truth there is behind this, but I've heard from 3 different sources now that Southwest may make an attempt to acquire a small airline who operates an all 737 fleet. This airline flies to many desitinations in the Caribean and Mexico..

SWA Selling Pet Carriers

Has any one purchased the Pet Carrier that SWA is selling? i would like to know how did it fit under the seat and how durable was it? Any pros or cons would be greatly appreciated. Seems like a pretty decent carrier for $45.00

Plenty of these "discount" fares are over $300 one-way. Southwest is practically inviting people to make fun of them. I don't get it.

Missed posting of flight segment

I do not always check to see if my flight credit is posted. But did recently and found it was not. Recheck my reservation printout and my RR# was on there correctly (automatic as I make my reservation on line after signing in)

I did use the Post a Missing Flight (or something like that) button on line and it posted within a minute - which was nice and easy.

BUT, a reminder to check your flight postings 3 days after your flight - as it is not 100% reliable.

Not sure how this was missed. Surely my BP was read or they would have had an incorrect pax count for the flight. ????

Flat tire question

I have read the FAQ and understand the flat tire rule is 2 hours.

I have a meeting and I may be able to make my 12:30pm flight but if I miss it can take the next flight which is at 2:35pm and still fall within the flat tire rule?

A-List status match from other airlines

Is there a chance Southwest would match me to A-list if I come from another airline ?
I have status with United and Frontier and would have easily enough flights for A-list if I shift my business from e.g. Frontier to Southwest.
Did anybody already try it and what was the outcome ?
