Lithuanian media reports SAS will start to fly its own metal CPH-VNO, 2 times per day, 14 times per week, starting from 11th of January 2010.

Well, how I see it...

Pros:
- good news for EB and *A, full points and benefits

Cons:
- most probably BT will stop their service, I'm not sure if there is a market for 28 flights per week
- even BT will stay, SK would probably exclude this route from EB extra points on BT metal
- most likely the fares will go up
- at the momement SAS website shows CRJ900 on this route, unless they will reconsider it later, this is a step down from BT 737, especialy for C-class.

What I'm not sure - SK selling this flight as 3-class. I've never seen (yet) SK CRJ900 with 3-class service?

Do I have maybe only a tiny bit of wiggle room, or could I get away with the sort of larger/heavier bag that I always bring on UA (or any other American carrier, for that matter)?

Let's see what kind of response we can get but it could be great to meet up in Oslo one evening to grab some drinks and food. It probably cannot be a proper Julebord since I doubt anything decent can be booked with such short notice but any diner plan would work in my opinion :p (doesn't even have to involve food if you ask me ;) )

In order to keep this slightly more interesting than the average lønningspils or formal diner I propose the criteria to be EBG/*AG only (i.e. "very" frequent travelers) and, say, under 35 years old. This would ensure a fairly homogeneous group of young professional who are sharing similar experiences.

And the idea would be more sharing of traveling experiences rather than pure business networking: let's keep it relax and fun!

So please post a quick "Interested" reply to see if we can manage something nice. (no PM please)

I've read that the service is somewhat rushed to allow the passengers to get more sleep. Is there a warm breakfast or lunch when arriving in CPH? It is after all around lunch time then.

Chances are i'll be at ORD quite early in the afternoon already. Is there a chance I could take SK946 to ARN instead if there's availability? The ANA website shows 0 award seats, but if there are actually empty seats, what is their policy?

Thanks

Edit: They can be combined. Helps to read the full page before you try to summarize it. Cashback is seemingly a ttl of 5% for low price and 17% for full price tickets.

Is it just me, but SAS points are b*tch to post. I do about 6-7 * alliance return flights a year and last 4 haven't posted, even though I give my SAS card in every single checkin. I gave up on a Lufthansa one, but have a couple of SAS flexi economy ones that would be a nice addition - it's just not worth the effort of sending them a letter.
Is this something they do on purpose?

The checkin woman obviously wasn't experienced in this and called the thai supervisor. She said straight away that this couldn't be done, but as I argued they gave it at shot. She said they needed to check that I had a confirmed reservation with CA to be able to check the luggage through, if not there cold be problems at TPE. What they did to check this was to enter my name and CA flightnumber into Amadeus, where they found nothing. They didn't seem to be sure about if they need just the last name or the full name.

Anybody know how this is supposed to be done, so I could teach them the next time? I'm not sure that CA used Amadeus, I had a confirmation from a chinese travelagency.

Isn't luggage throughtcheck supposed to be a *A benefit?

I'm new to this "frequent flier world” and have a question regarding earning points on the CPH – TRF route.
I made a booking at sas.dk for a return flight TRF-CPH
Outbound flight:	28. oct	WF 311 Class: O
Inbound flight:	4.nov	WF306	Class: T

I booked 2 months in advance and the total cost of the journey were 1.078,00 DKK incl. Taxes.
When I looked at my Eurobonus account i was credited 1200 points for the outbound trip, which was registered as a business flight  and 150 points for the inbound.

From my point of view it seems a little odd that I have been credited so many points on the outbound compared to the inbound, especially when the cost of the flights are almost equal. I know that it is two different classes.

1st of September I did a single flight from CPH –TRF, and was credited 1200 points and registered as a business flight. I can’t remember the booking class, but I paid about 500 DKK incl. taxes

Does anyone have a reasonable explanation?

Today I received a letter from SAS in my mail, telling me how I've earned 46.400 basic points in the first 9 month of my qualification period, and only need 8600 to keep my EBG. Then it explains how I can easily earn these points, eg. by flying to London 5 times in economy (of couse it doesn't tell that this is only if you book a few expensive economy classes).

Actually I think it is nice to see SAS more actively promoting EBG, but unfortunately this letter only shows the incompetence of SAS, since I've had 70.000+ basic points since august, and as such is already qualified for EBG next year

And the "fly 5 times to London" example is also wrong since with the EBG 25% bonus I'd only have to fly 4 times in full economy to London to earn 10.000 basic points.

If I thought it would make any difference, I'd send them a polite e-mail telling them about these errors, but with the current levels of customer attention I couldn't be bothered. I'll just continue to credit my flights to BMI as I've done since they introduced the rediciously high fuel surcharges on awards.
