- Probably 777 from LHR and therefore a risk of having no AVOD onboard.
- Probably 777 from LHR and therefore a risk of dodgy old style Club World seats.
+ Could be nice new style Club World.
+ T5 at LHR is relatively nice.
+ Better timing in connections.

Or Business with Qatar Airways:
- Bad timing coming home, looooong connection at DOH.
+ Nice aircraft and service.

Prices are about the same. Pretty annoying that all flights out of Chennai seems to depart at about 4 in the morning.:(

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Quick question I was hoping to get some help with. Long story short, I am in India and unexpectedly need to have some business meetings that I did not anticipate. My fault, I should have been prepared.

I will be in DEL for a day soon and wanted to buy some business casual attire there (suit not necessary). I would need shoes, slacks, belt, socks, and shirts and do not particularly want to spend much on it. I don't care much about the clothing, just want to look presentable for a couple of days, but if I am going to buy shoes they might as well be good quality that I can wear back in the States. I normally wear Johnston and Murphy, Gordon Rush, those type of brands (mid range). I wouldn't mind spending up to USD 300-400 for the shoes as long as they are a good brand. Slacks and shirts I would prefer to keep in the USD 50 range per item, as I do not anticipate finding something in a style I would normally wear at home.

Any suggestions on where to buy this stuff? My colleague recommended the mall in Gurgaon with the Leela Kempinski attached, specifically Marks and Spencer (and Zodiac for brand). Will this suffice?

I will probably be at the Hyatt or ITC Maurya, so nearby to there is best, but will have a driver so can go wherever I need to. Thanks for the help.

I'll be passing through Delhi again Friday night and am wondering if the int'l airport has a Lost & Found where I can drop the shoe. Am I being ridiculous? It's been almost a week since the shoe went missing from its original owner.
Opinions please!

If you believe that driving licenses in India are a joke and the system is corrupt please avoid pontificating and responding to my request. The question is intended to determine the correct way to get vehicle driving privileges in India when the chauffeur is not available.

Thx.

Yet another question for you India experts.
I'm flying into BOM with a lot of luggage (due to two small children and a variety of destinations with both hot and cold weather). I'll be taking a bunch of internal flights around India on LCCs, ending up in Delhi, which will be my departure point from India. My international luggage allowance is nice and large (I'm travelling in C) but my lowest domestic allowance is much less (20kg per person). I'm wondering if I can stage some of our colder-weather stuff by shipping it somehow from our transit hotel in Mumbai to the house where we'll be staying in Delhi, so I don't have to carry it around (and can lighten the suitcases that I do carry).
Can anyone advise me on the most reliable/safe way to ship a suitcase from city to city? I'll be arriving in BOM late and leaving at noon the next day, so I'd ideally have all arrangements for pick-up and shipping set in advance, and not have to do any special packaging.
Thanks!

Arrival at Bangalore at 4am, what options do I have to transfer to Bangalore City Jct train station? (Bus/Train/taxis? rough cost etc)

The same for Chennai Central station to Chennai Airport Domestic terminal at midnight, then returning Airport to Train Station on a Sunday morning.

Also are there decent left luggage facilities at both stations?

Finally has anyone used any of the following priority pass airport lounges?
Chennai Domestic Bica Lounge
Cochin Domestic Clipper lounge

I have a 4am departure to Port Blair from Chennai so want to check in after midnight and spend 2/3 hours in the Bica lounge.

Many thanks for the help.

Want to travel to India but getting confusing feedback re: the visa.

1)How long does it take for visa processing if you have US and Pak citizenships?

2)Is it true in anyone's recent experience that the consulate wants your Pak passport and NICOP card enclosed with your US passport and will not stamp the via in your US passport but instead in your Pak passport. Which brings me to one question and one concern: a)what if you don't have a Pakistan passport because you have, for instance, been a US citizen for the last 35 years and have never renewed your passport and cannot find your last passport b)if you do have a current valid Pak passport and the consulate insists on stamping the US visa in it doesn't that then subject you to police reporting at every step of the way?

Would appreciate feedback from anyone knowledgeable about this particular issue.

I applied for a tourist visa for India in April earlier this year and received it within a week. I made a visit to India (fell in love with the country) in September and applied for another visa upon my return on September 18, 2009. I went through TRAVISA; it has been a month and I still do not have the visa. I have called TRAVISA several times but always ask me to wait and tell me they have no other information. Their website shows the status as "Documents received by consulate."

1. Does it typically take this long? I could have just been lucky the first time.
2. I put down a date of December for my second visit. Could that possibly be delaying my visa?
3. Should I try calling the consulate directly?

Please share you experience and any advice you may have. I need to get my vacation approved by my employer, buy tickets, make hotel arrangements etc. after I get the visa.
