Hello all,

I just found out that I'll be making a work-related trip to Burlington, VT during the first week of Dec. Since my work schedule will be unpredictable, I'm at least hoping for a hotel with late night room service and a restaurant in the hotel (for pure convenience). Right now I'm leaning toward either the Doubletree or Hilton, but I'm open to suggestions. Also, what is there to do in the local area without making a trip into Canada?

One last thing: it seems like all the PHL-BTV flights are serviced by RJs. Is this correct?

Your help is appreciated!

Not much that regular users don't already know or that one can't find out by reading FT, but their take on some of the food places can be useful - especially in an unfamiliar terminal.

When it comes to the "cabbies' routes" to the airport, most of the alternate routes use roads that are likely to be worse than the main road they're meant to avoid. (If the Mass. Pike is slow, Storrow Drive will almost certainly be worse unless there's a specific, local cause for the Pike tie-up.) The one from the south could come in handy, though.

My boss has come to me for advice.... and this is where I need some help. I am used to travelling long distances... not driving trips.

She wants to go somewhere the week after Christmas... and wants it to be within 5 hours of Providence Rhode Island.

It will be her, her husband and their 16 year old son.

They would like something that would be 4 - 5 star with great dining options as they are "foodies".

So, what would my FT friends recommend?

My wife and I will be in Boston next weekend (Oct30-Nov1) and we've both been there before -- so I'm looking for your suggestions for "seasoned" travelers.

Also, regarding trasnsportation -- when I've gone in the past, it's been for business and I usually take a taxi from BOS into the city. Since this is a personal trip, I'd like to be a little more economical. It appears there is a shuttle that runs from the airport to the station which if I recall is about 10 minutes or so.

We're arriving at 11pm. Would it be better to just take a cab? Our hotel is near Fanueil Hall.

Thanks!
