Hi

I am getting a bit confused so thought to strike out options which are not feasible.I will be flying from Nebraska to Miami. We are all college students so not on a very lavish budget.I will be visiting with my sis, male and a female friend. We are not much into bar and drinking, museums or parks. All are in 25's age group.

I want to spend my new year's eve on Miami beach to see music, dance and fireworks. If I am not wrong its around 10th street somewhere and SoBe runs till 23rt street.I would like to spend some time on beach, see sunset at some place or try some sunset cruise, try snorkeling as never done it before and try some watersports(water scooter like that) if possible.

I should be landing on 31st afternoon and flying back on 4th morning. So I have basically 3 complete days and half day of 31st. I have my flight reservation, car booking from Mia for jan2-4 as well as jan1-4.

This is my tentative program and questions:

Dec31st: Get a hotel around Miami airport( I saw there are quite a few around it especially on south side like Fairfield inn and suites) and in the evening take a cab from hotel to SoBe.Is it possible to get cab from hotel to SoBe?Will it be possible to get cab back around 1 am.Do they have fixed rates (if yes then how much) or it varies.I don't want to be taken for ride.

Jan1st: Take a cab to SoBe,take duck tour, after that walk around SoBe market, spend time on beach in evening ,take cab back to hotel.

Jan2nd: Check out and rent a car(2days=100$ or so) from Miami airport.

****************

Now I don't know how to plan this part with activities I am interested in,where to go to try snorkelling, water sports, sunset watching or sunset cruising,Do I need to goto some key, then which key?Do I need to make some stops at some places on way to key?

****************

Jan3rd: In the evening head back and check in at some hotel near airport.

Jan4th : Fly to Nebraska.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Howdy. Looking for some guidance...

Some friends rented a condo in south beach for the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Im thinking of popping down for a day or two, but I"m bumping into 3 day minimum stays at a bunch of hotels I'm looking at.

I don't begrudge them the effort, I suppose, but does anyone know if they will open up the nights if they get close and are not booked? Can't imagine they'd rather stay empty.

Or is South Beach always full?

Thanks for any insight.

I am in and out of MCO at least 2-3 times a month. I have gotten very tired of the "traffic cops" in blue after you pass the TSA agent that checks your ID and boarding pass.

The "traffic cops" are directing everyone without kids to the 2-3 lines to the left and sending the people with kids to the 2-3 lines to the right up against the glass.

The problem is that the "kids" line only has a few people in it and the other lines are jammed up with a 10 min wait. The kids line goes thru in a few minutes and we are stuck with the longer wait.

Now I have kids and they travel frequently, I do not expect to put my infants thru the expert traveller line, but what is wrong with expert travelers using any line available?

Since they shut down the CLEAR line the waits are now longer.

I have complained to the TSA managers at the desk on the tram side of the xray machines and every time they tell me that I am free to choose any line. But everytime I am told to get in the longer lines by the "traffic cop"

Any suggestions?

Thanks

(FLL and MIA seem to be more money and there are no nonstops into PBI). We are a party of five, so even $25/ticket is a savings.

Can someone give me an idea of how long/slow the drive would be between RSW/MCO and West Palm? Which would be the better option? Also is one airport 'better' than the other?

Thanks

So I just paid lot of money to see these yachts. My flight change fee and the cost of an extra nights stay! Anyways, I am staying at the FLL Airport Hilton and I need to figure out how to get there. They can arrange a shuttle, but they have to have at least 4 people. I also would prefer NOT to take a taxi. The best I have figured out so far is the shuttle van to the airport then hop the bus to downtown. But anyone have a better idea?
