I just got off of 1751 MIA-DFW. I was in 5E. During the boarding announcements it was mentioned numerous times not to have your laptop in the seat back pocket. After the "turn off your electronic devices" announcement, the flight attendant kept trying to get the guy in 4E to turn off something (I couldn't see what). Meanwhile, while she was standing there chewing out 4E, the man in 4B was stowing his laptop in the seat back pocket. She again came to tell 4E to turn off his device, all the while the laptop was clearly visible in the 4B seat back as it was white on a puke brown background. Again, said nothing about the laptop. After the FA came down the aisle after the FAPFD announcement, I pointed at it and said "what about the laptop in the seatback", she then said something to 4B.

I know that it is really none of my business, but I was mad that the FA was chewing this guy out in 4E, while the guy right next to her is putting his laptop in the seat back at the same time and was clearly visible on the walk throughs, yet nothing was said to him.

I don't know, favorable treatment for someone for no reason just seems to piss me off.

I won't buy the "she didn't notice it" line. either. In the seat back, he also had in some big boxy holder for something and the laptop was just about falling out as it was, there was no way to miss it.

Curious if FTers have any thoughts on this. I am going to be flying LAX - SFO (Flt. 1920) returning SFO - LAX (Flt. 2578). So I will be back at LAX around 6:00 PM. That same day I am flying LAX - JFK (Flt. 10). I want to take a fresh suit, shirt, etc. with me leave in the AC for my return then hit the showers change into the clean clothes and catch my LAX-JFK flight.

Yes I know I could go SFO - JFK but that is not going to happen. Different tickets, clients, discounted fare not worth it to pay a change fee, etc.

My question is, can I leave a garment bag in the AC unitl I return as I really don't want to carry it all over SF. Practically speaking has anyone ever done this? I thought about maybe asking one of the AAngels to hold it behind the desk (and of course thank them with a Starbucks card) or just notify them that what I wanted to do. I can take it with me but prefer not to.

Of course I don't want to create a situation where T4 gets closed down becuase a garment bad was left unattended in the AC.

Thoughts?

A few weeks ago on NRT-ORD they were offering some very nice wines in Biz class. Made me realize I should start paying more attention to the wines offered.

Now if we could only get AA to stock those $220.00 bottles of 1997 Champagne Salon that JAL stocks :).

What's going on? Has there just been a month of amazing tailwind? Is AA sandbagging the times?

The reason I'm looking into this is because I need to meet someone from this flight next week and I'm trying to figure out when I actually need to arrive at SFO. Should I expect early arrivals next week too?

If I want to reroute , change dates, i.e. touch the Itn , am I "grandfathered" under the old rules? Or will AA want to redeposit the award and have me start from scratch under the new one way system.

I appreciate that even if AA wanted to accommodate, that there might be I.T.
issues.

I'd like to know the experience of AA FT'ers.

I thought I would share my experience with all of you. It happened last Saturday, 11/14 on the flight 137 from London to LA.
I was sitting in business class enjoying my dinner and wine, just about getting ready to go to sleep. I had my noise cancellation headset on so noticed only a little of the commotion happening just in front of me.
A lady, in her late 60s or 70s was crying in the bathroom for quite a while. The flight attendant was asking another guy and me to help restrain her. Apparently, the lady had consumed a whole bottle of Schnapps and was acting crazy. At that point, she was bleeding from a fall and covered with vomit and poop. She had taken off her pants and was very aggressive towards the flight attendants when they opened the bathroom door.
I have to mention that the other guy disappeared at this point. I asked the purser if she had a plan beyond hand cuffing the lady, like how is she going to keep her in a chair. Of course she did not think that far ahead and there was no way to do that. She, however, was very determined to cuff her and we decided to try. Well, those plastic cuffs must have been for a 250 pound man because the lady easily slipped her hands out. So now what???
I decided to try a different approach. I noticed that the lady was very scared of all the uniformed people yelling at her. So I hugged her and started talking to her (in German, I was told she was German but later found out she was Swedish) calmed her down and made her lay down on the floor. I sat with her on the floor for about 3 hours while she was sleeping, with periods of waking up and changing personality. It got to be as much as her saying how much she liked me and was sucking on my thumb as she slept.

After about 3 hours, when she woke up, we offered her some coffee. At that time, I smelled horrible from all of what she smelled like, my shirt was covered with her blood, and my jeans with red wine (mine) and coffee (hers). When she felt good enough, she wanted to get dressed again (we had taped a blanket around her lower half). We were hoping that this was a good sign, but of course we were wrong. After she got out of the bathroom she became agitated and I had to restrain her again. After much convincing, I was able to put her in her seat and I sat next to her, for about 2 more hours. At that point she decided that she needed freedom, wanted her connection ticket and I became the bad guy because I was following her all over the place. So when she told the purser that she did not want me around, they decided to make an emergency landing in Calgary. I guess none of them wanted to touch her and because she did not agree for me to control her no one could.
So we landed. The police took her, I changed my shirt, took my business class seat back, and we were only one hour delayed to get to LA.
I am flying to the UK the first week of December and requested an upgrade from coach to business class. At the time I requested it, it was $350 + 25K miles. I saw my AA monthly newsletter came in today, and it mentioned it was going to $550 + 25K. If my upgrade comes through, will I get it for the $350, the rate at that time, or will it be $550?

I really do not understand how AA can jst keep raising their fares while their compitotors do not budge or have gone down. My case in point. I need to go from MIA-DEN Jan 7th returning on the 12th or will go 8th returning on the 13th. Over the last several weeks AA has raised fares about 6 times. So now AA is charging $423 while UA/Cont is charging $269 and Frontier is charging the same from FLL. If I look at the 8th the difference is $388 VS $314 for UA vs $264 for Frontier.
If I was not an EXP and so loyal to AA I would have booked on UA in a second. How can anyone pay so much more to fly on AA unless they are an EXP or Plat that needs the miles?
Is it that AA really does not want to sell tickets from MIA-DEN saving them for people making connections? I do realize that the flight on the 7th is half sold. I took the same flight last year buying the ticket less than 2 weeks before for $230 and the flight had at leat 30 open seats.

Any logic or explanation to AA's high pricing would be appreciated.
