Based on the latest Gold Lunch notes, I thought the E-Wallet was supposed to be complete this week? Anyone know the status? I have a credit from a cancelled flight from earlier this month and it would be nice to deposit that credit into my E-Wallet so I don't forget about it. As it is, I have the following discounts or credits in my account:

$300 credit due to BTT or whatever they call it now
$50 BofA companion fare
40% off airfare from OAK-KOA/OGG for (2) passengers
approx $200 credit for a cancelled flight.

I think I need to plan some trips for 2010. I pretty much have MVPG locked up for 2010 but will need to work on 2011.

I have no Alaska miles. I do have American, Delta, Continental and some United. Many Southwest also, but I know they have no partners.

Wanted to get OW trip to ANC (taking cruise back) next summer from Reno.

What are the partners I can do this with?
Is it necessary (best) to go to airline I have miles with and book from them?
Or can I go to Alaska Air and use miles from other carrier?

Also, does it cost more miles using Partners, or other disadvantages?

Also, is it easy to "trade" miles on Coupon Connection and have other person make my reservation?

Thanks for any help I get.

2010 Boardroom Membership Updates

Dear Paul,

On behalf of the Alaska Airlines Board Room team, we thank you for the opportunity to provide you with the award-winning service and high quality amenities you've come to expect from us. As we strive to continually improve the value of your membership, we're proud of the enhancements we've added just this year, including:

• More access – although our worldwide agreement with Continental has ended, our expanded partnership with Delta SkyClubs, combined with select airport-specific agreements with Continental and American, provide members with eight more locations than last year, a total 57 locations.

• More treats – with new high-quality complimentary food and beverage offerings at our buffets, including soup, vegetables and a larger selection of spirits.

• More exclusive events – including our new 'Epicurean' program, where we invite some of the area's finest chefs and winemakers to showcase their specialties at complimentary tasting events.

In addition, we are continuing to invest in our Board Room program including the building of a new Board Room in LAX in tandem with Alaska's move into Terminal 6 in late 2010. While we continually strive to increase the value of your Board Room membership, we have done our utmost to avoid fee increases, despite the rising costs of operating our rooms. As a result, we've managed to keep Board Room membership fees unchanged for the past four years. This year, however, as a result of a steady increase in the cost of doing business, it's become necessary for us to increase our fees. The fee structure below will apply to all Board Room memberships and renewals effective January 1, 2010.

Mileage Plan Status - Annual - 3 Year - Spouse - Spouse 3 Year

Regular Member - $350 - $950 - $250 - $650

MVP - $325 - $875 - $250 - $650

MVP Gold - $295 - $785 - $250 - $650

MVP and MVP Gold members will now receive a discount on annual dues. Spouse memberships benefits will be expanded to include the same guest privileges as our regular members.

The price of a one-day passes will increase from $30 to $40. Board Room members will be able to purchase discounted day passes for $20. Day passes provide access to all six Board Room locations throughout a day of travel.

We appreciate your understanding and hope you will agree that our program still represents a great value.

We look forward to seeing you soon in your Alaska Airlines Board Room.

Sincerely,

Jeri McGarity & Melyssa Schug
Flying to US in V Aust Y+ in May/June 2010, 2 of us, have Qantas points & Aust Amex MR & would appreciate some advice on the following one way flights.

LAX-KTN via SEA
YXY-FAI- understand there is only Air North
ANC-SEA.

Once back in Seattle we will also have a couple of short hop flights back down west coast to LAX ( not fully planned yet)-maybe SLC, JAC, SFO or SAN

Do AS provide a good use of QF points ( Y or F) or are there better options? eg Are there any multi flight coupons.
My reading on the AS website seems to show that currently there is a bonus for joining & also a bonus when buying miles. It seems we would be able to use the purchased miles at the times we need- Is there anything to be aware of?- I don't want to buy miles & then be unable to use them.

At time of flights will be silver & bronze with QF & no V Aust status.

Thanks folks

Hi, I'm new to the forum, because I recently started to travel a lot. I've realized I will become an MVP soon on Alaska, going over the 20,000 threshold in early December. Reading through the forums, I see that the counter does reset on Jan 1.

So, please excuse me if this is a dumb question (since it sounds like I've already answered it)... but just in case...

Will I be able to build on my 20,000 miles in the new year and achieve my Gold status? Or, have I answered my own question... and I have to start over on Jan 1?

Thanks!
I'm curious about what happens to award tickets I book as a gold if I'm a nobody by the time I use them.

Specifically, will the change fee waiver persist or will it not apply if I'm not gold when I try to make the change?

(I'm also curious about priority boarding/seat selection/security screening, but those are less important.)

Hi, :)

I have never redeemed my Alaska Air mileage points - of which I now have a little over 17,200.

I have two sisters neither of whom have ever flown Alaska. One sister had cancer (currently 1 year cancer free :) ) and the other sister and I would like to pick up the major expenses for the sister who had cancer and we would all have a vacation in Orlando in September 2010.

I have checked the award chart and it would be possible to get a round-trip award for 25,000 round-trip.

Right now they have a "purchase miles get 30% bonus" promotion until the end of the year.

If my calculations are correct, I could purchase 7,000 +2,100 bonus miles for $192.50 (plus taxes). I would then have:
17,200 + 7,000 + 2,100 = 26,200 miles.

I do understand that the award ticket would have to be in my name - but I could tell my sister that since my ticket was 'free' (shhhh....we don't have to tell her that I paid $192.50+ for some of those miles ;) ) - I was able to purchase her ticket as a gift.

Any flaws in this?

Thanks for your help :)
